We had another amazing week at Crosswell! After visiting several classrooms, it is evident that your students are actively engaged and already making progress! I'm proud of all of our Cubs.
This week, we have an opportunity for parents to learn about Title 1 at Crosswell and opportunities for you to be involved. I hope you can attend and I look forward to spending that time with you all!
We look forward to another week at Crosswell and watching our leaders grow into the leaders of tomorrow!

Habit #1: Be Proactive
Our first habit of the 7 Habits of Happy Kids is to Be Proactive! Remember that means that we are in charge of ourselves including our words, actions, and behaviors. That can be really difficult, though, when life happens and challenges occur. A great strategy is the "Pause, Think, and Choose" Strategy or choosing mindful breathing techniques to calm ourselves. Read the story below, listen to the video, and practice the strategies below at home this week!
7 Habits of Happy Kids
Our goal is to ensure parents/guardians feel well equipped to help their child(ren) succeed inside the classroom out. The Cub Connection is going to be a video series outlining ways to support students with academics, social-emotional skills, and implementing Leader in Me at home. Additionally, we plan to highlight community resources/partners as well as happenings in the classroom/school!
School and Community Engagement Calendar
Each month, we will post a calendar with events that are happening at Crosswell as well as around the community. These events will be both educational but, also, events for you to spend quality time as a family. Please see the following calendar below to stay up to date!
Cub Tales at CWE!
Crosswell is excited to partner, again, with United Way of Pickens County to provide our Cub Tales' Program! This is a wonderful opportunity for those in the community with children 3 years old and younger. During this time, we follow the Palmetto Basics (see link below) to help families provide enriching opportunities for students through literacy. The Basics are 5 fun, simple, and powerful ways that every parent and caregiver can give every child a great start in life! These basics are simple and for everyone and are based on decades of research! Join us for Cub Tales!
