Middleton Update
September 27, 2024
Dear Middleton Families,
Thank you so much for joining us at our Back to School Night last night. It was so fun to have so many of you in the building! We would LOVE to get your feedback on this new format. Please take a minute or two to complete THIS SURVEY if you came last night.
Today we are kicking off fundraising for our annual Fun Run. All students came to an assembly this afternoon. Look for more info below AND in today's backpack mail. Let's keep our fingers crossed for ๐ GREAT๐ weather on October 10th.
Happy Weekend!

Fun Run
The Middleton Fun Run is on Thursday, October 10th for PreK-5th grade students. The Fun Run is our MAIN fundraiser for the year. Students will run in the front parking lot again this year, and families are invited to attend and cheer for their students and their classmates. Please stop at the check-in table where you will receive a visitor sticker to wear. More information is coming home today in your student's Friday Folder. Questions? Check out our FAQ Fun Run Page.
Our PAC is looking for volunteers to ensure this event is a success. Volunteering for this event is a great opportunity to feel the Middleton School Spirit! We also need volunteers to help pin runner bibs on t-shirts on Tuesday, October 8th. Click HERE for all the opportunities to help.

Art Literacy
There will be an informational meeting for Art Literacy Tuesday, October 1st from 9:00-10:00. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting to learn more about what it is and how you can help. We will meet at school in the Art Lit Room #5.

Nutrition Services
We would like to remind our families that if your meal application was approved in School Year 2023-2024, your student's eligibility will expire on October 8th, 2024 and a new application is required to continue receiving meals at no cost.
If your student qualified for meals at no cost automatically in School Year 2023-2024 and you have not received an email confirming your studentโs eligibility for School Year 2024-2025, please reach out to nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us to confirm eligibility for the current school year.
Please note that if your studentโs eligibility expires, meals will be charged at the paid rate until a new qualifying meal application is processed. If at any time you would like to confirm your eligibility for our meal program, please contact nutrition@sherwood.k12.or.us. The current Meal Application for School Year 2024-2025 can be found here.

Drop-Off / Pick-Up
We are aware that drop-off and pick-up times can be hectic and a bit time-consuming. We apologize for any frustrations that this may cause. We are working to improve the system and our efficiency. As we strive to improve, please keep the following in mind...
- When you are at the curb picking up your child in the car line after school, please pull forward to fill in all gaps as cars exit ahead of you, even if this means you are pulling further away from your child. We will send your child to you. Filling in these gaps will allow more cars to enter the parking lot and improve our overall efficiency.
- Please be certain to stop at the stop sign unless you see me (Natasha) waving you out of the parking lot. If this isn't happening, it's important you stop and allow traffic in other directions to also flow.
- If you drop your child off on Old Hwy 99, please be sure to park on the side of the street, and not drop off while still in the middle of traffic.
- Please remember that the streets surrounding our school are 20 mph during school hours.
