Prescott Mile High MS Spring 2025 Fundraiser
Calling all fans! In order to achieve the level of success we strive for, we need to achieve financial success! This fundraiser will help our group not only check ‘needs’ off our list but will also allow us to work on our ‘wants’ as well. We are working towards purchasing new sporting equipment for our teams as well as classroom desks. We appreciate your support! No donation is too small!!! Your support matters greatly!
We are launching our fundraising efforts on the SchoolFundr Platform February 1st. SchoolFundr is an online donation platform but unlike all other online fundraising platforms, SchoolFundr gives ALL money raised back to the program.

Prescott Wrestlers Shine at Copper State Middle School Championships
Prescott’s young wrestlers made their mark at the Copper State Wrestling Championships at the Findlay Toyota Center on January 31st and February 2nd. They proved that hard work, dedication, and a strong team, can lead to incredible success on one of Arizona’s biggest stages.
Leading the charge was Jeremyah Villanueva, who captured his second consecutive state title at 180 pounds. The first title earned at a different state championship, only two weeks prior. From wrestling only local tournaments in California to training with a world-class team at Prescott’s Mile High Middle School, Jeremyah’s journey is a testament to his relentless determination and the power of a strong support system. Jeremyah was undefeated at 180 pounds this season and he pinned his way through both state championships (the first being open to school and club teams, the second being only open to school teams).
Joining Jeremyah on the podium, Briley Ricketts battled her way to an impressive 2nd place finish at 110 pounds in the Girls Open, while Henry Hampton IV showcased his grit and skill, securing 4th place at 118 pounds. Briley pinned the #2 seed in the semi finals and Henry pinned the #3 seed prior to the match for 3rd place. Both Briley and Henry entered the tournament at #5 seeds in the entire state of AZ.
But beyond these individual achievements, this success belongs to the entire team. Wrestling is a sport that demands relentless effort, and every practice, every drill, and every match contributes to the growth of these young athletes. The camaraderie, support, and mentorship within this team have created an environment where champions are made not just in medals, but in character and resilience.
Prescott’s wrestling community should be proud. This team’s performance at Copper State is more than just a series of wins, it’s proof that dedication, the right training, and an incredible support system can elevate wrestlers to the highest level.
Congratulations to all of our wrestlers who competed, your hard work is noticed, your determination is respected, and your future in this sport is bright! Special thanks to Head Coach, Mike Frascone, and assistant coaches, Matt Mintzmyer, Gracie Miller, Serge Fenn, Mike Santacruz, and Ceasar Astorga.
Special congratulations to all of our wrestlers' parents and the outstanding school administration and staff at Prescott Mile High Middle School and the PUSD bus barn for making this all possible.

Winter Weather Information
FROM PUSD ADMINISTRATION
1) Will it ever snow this year?? Maybe this weekend! We are approaching the time of year when snowy or icy roads may impact our school days. Please visit our PUSD website for full information about potential 2-hour delays or cancellations.
Some highlights:
- Student and staff safety is our highest priority, with in-person instruction another top priority.
- When roads may be snowy or icy, we consult with the City’s Streets Department, with local weather experts, and with our PUSD Transportation Department to make a call if school can be held on our regular schedule.
- We continue to closely monitor the forecast and actual weather and local road conditions as late as 5:00 am, when for busing reasons we must make a call about a regular schedule or a 2-hour delay. (If the forecast is definite that a delay will be necessary the following morning, we can sometimes make that call the previous evening.)
- Information about school delays/cancellations will be posted on our website by 5:30 a.m. Notices will also be sent by email, text, and our PUSD app. Please be sure that your contact information is up to date with your school.
- Prescott has a variety of elevations and streets. While school attendance is very important, if your family determines that your circumstances make it unsafe to commute, our schools will be understanding.
- If school is canceled or delayed, there are no scheduled before-school clubs or classes.
Quarter 3 Clubs
Clubs start on January 13th and will cost $30 for the quarter. Students received information about the available clubs, and if your child would like to participate, they’ll need to fill out the club registration paperwork and pay the fee before joining. If they didn’t receive the paperwork, it’s available in the office. Students can start participating at any time this quarter. Let us know if you need more details!

Attendance Matters
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to emphasize the importance of regular school attendance and how it impacts your child's academic success and overall development.
Every school day offers valuable opportunities for learning, collaboration, and growth. Consistent attendance ensures that students can engage fully with the curriculum, build essential skills, and strengthen their understanding of key subjects. Missing school can lead to gaps in learning, which can affect future academic progress and make it harder for students to catch up.
In addition to academics, regular attendance helps foster positive social skills, self-discipline, and a sense of responsibility—traits that are essential for success both inside and outside the classroom. By prioritizing school attendance, we are setting our students up for success in the future.
We understand that there are sometimes unavoidable circumstances that may prevent attendance, and we are here to support your child in those times. Please feel free to reach out if you need any assistance or guidance in helping maintain consistent attendance.
Together, we can ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive.
Thank you for your continued partnership in your child's education!
Warm regards,
Mile High Administration
