Hello Norris Lion Community!

We had a great week at Norris, beginning with teachers digging into our fall assessment data on Tuesday and preparing lessons that meet the needs of all of our students. Thank you to all who attended Family Picnic Night on Thursday, and stayed for the first PTO meeting of the year. We had a great turnout at our Donuts with Dads event, kicking off our Watch DOG Volunteer program. We can't wait to have our parents and community members involved in all of the exciting things at Norris this year!

Students are invited to create their own bookmark with the theme of "Norris Lions." Pick up a template from Mrs. Harris and be sure to turn in your completed bookmark by Friday, September 23rd!! We will vote on submissions as a school and the top 3 voted bookmarks will win a prize!

Our first School Improvement Team meeting will take place on Monday, September 19th at 4:00 in the Library. The School Improvement Team is a committee of teachers and parents who provide valuable input and planning on initiatives and programs that impact all students. 4-H Youth Development in Douglas-Sarpy Counties is hosting a free youth Fire Safety Day at their office on Friday, October 14 from 9 am to noon. This is a free event that any youth from 5 to 18 is welcome to attend. The local fire station will be bringing a fire engine so youth can get up close to the vehicle and hear from the firefighters themselves.
