Message from Mrs. Puetz and Mrs. Brown
As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to each and every one of you for your continued support throughout this school year. It has been a wonderful few months of growth, learning, and community, and we are so fortunate to have such dedicated families as part of our school family.
We would also like to thank our incredible HeHo PTA for their continued support and dedication to our school community. Your contributions make such a positive impact, and we are so grateful for everything you do! Thank you for organizing and hosting the Parent/Teacher Conferences luncheon — it was a wonderful way to show appreciation for our teachers and staff. We also appreciate the PTA’s efforts in coordinating the fall classroom parties! Looking ahead, we’re excited about the upcoming winter parties, and we know they will be another memorable experience for our children. Additionally, your support for the upcoming Griffin’s Tale performance will help make this a fantastic event for our students and families to enjoy. We are truly lucky to have such a committed PTA working alongside us!
Lastly, with the weather turning colder, we would like to kindly remind everyone to ensure that students come to school dressed for the season. As temperatures drop, please make sure your child has appropriate outerwear, such as jackets, hats, and gloves, so they can stay warm and comfortable during recess and outdoor activities. If your child is in need of any additional clothing, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us – we are here to help.
As we look forward to a well-deserved break, we hope you all find time to relax, reflect, and enjoy special moments with loved ones.
Wishing you all a joyful and restful Thanksgiving break!
Patty and Becca

Lost and Found
Griffin’s Tale Performance – April 11th
A performance group called Griffin’s Tale Children’s Theatre will be visiting Henking this school year on April 11th. This is a super fun opportunity for our students, as this group takes stories and poems written by OUR KIDS and turns them into skits, sketches, songs, raps, dances and more. Mrs. Davidson and Mr. Turner will be talking to 1st and 2nd grade classes over the next couple weeks to explain the process.
If you would like, you can help them create a writing submission at home! They can submit writing they've done for units at school or free writing they may have done at home or school. In the past, the performers have adapted fiction stories, comic books, poetry, personal narratives, opinion pieces, drawings, and much more. To be considered, students need to turn in their writing submissions to Mrs. Davidson or Mr. Turner by 11/26.
We will also emphasize with the students that they choose stories that they can best adapt to the stage. If your story isn’t chosen, it doesn’t mean your writing was not amazing!
