PRINICPAL'S MESSAGE
Good evening parents and families,
Not many words today. I only want to highlight the best celebrations today by the best PTSA! Thank you to the PTSA Board and volunteers for making magic happen today. Our students and teachers had a great time in the snow.
I hope that you all have a great break. I hope rest and family time are in store for each of you. We will be back at it soon enough, so for the next 17 days, enjoy making memories together.
Sincerely,

*WELCOME BACK FROM BREAK
As we prep for Spring Semester:
Semester 2 begins on Tuesday, January 7th. Any schedule changes that were needed for Semester 2 have been completed by the scheduling team. Possible Semester 2 schedule changes may include teacher recommendations for course changes based on student data, administrative schedule changes based on student discipline data, and balancing of classes to increase/decrease class size. The only Semester 2 changes to connections would have been adding or dropping a year-long connections course such as Band, Orchestra, or Chorus. We are not making any changes to general connections as we want students to have the opportunity to experience a variety of courses at EPMS. If you have any questions regarding scheduling, please reach out to Mrs. Tew, Curriculum Assistant Principal, at tewm@fultonschools.org.

THINGS TO KNOW
Linewize Monitoring FAQ
QUESTION: What is Linewize Monitoring?
ANSWER: It is a monitoring tool on all Fulton County School issues laptops.
Q: Why is Fulton County Schools using the Linewize monitoring tool?
A: As digital learning continues to grow both in and out of the classroom, protecting children online has become a top safety concern for our schools and staff. To keep our students safe and healthy, Fulton County Schools is now using a tool called Linewize Monitor.
Q: What is the purpose?
A: It’s one of the most advanced systems for spotting potential threats in schools. Linewize will be installed on all school-issued devices and will monitor online activity around the clock — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week — to help ensure student safety.
What is Linewize Monitoring?
- Linewize’s monitoring solution has the capability to:
- Receive automatic alerts when suspicious online activity is detected
- Notify parents when students attempt to or successfully access inappropriate or harmful content
- Pinpoint students who may need mental health resources
- Identify students whose online behaviors suggest they are at-risk (self-harm, bullying, violence, etc.)
- Quickly mediate and intervene when suspicious activity is flagged
- Download student behavioral and wellbeing reports
Q: How does Linewize work?
A: Linewize Monitor combines artificial intelligence (AI) with human moderators to detect risky online behavior among students. The AI scans students' online activities, capturing screenshots of any behavior that may indicate harm or vulnerability.
What happens if Linewize detects concerning activity?
Depending on the severity, low-level concerns are flagged for school officials to review and determine if they’re false alarms.
More serious risks, including to student health or life are sent to a human moderator for analysis and escalation to our school district's safeguarding contact who may be in contact with you in case of any detected emergencies or safety concerns.
Q: What does Linewize Monitor NOT do?
A:
- It does not view, share, or collect any personal student data.
- It cannot access parent contact information.
- It does not use or access webcams or video cameras on student devices.
- It does not monitor personal devices like cell phones or personal laptops used outside the classroom.
- It will not contact parents or guardians directly.
Q: How does Linewize ensure the protection and privacy of students and staff?
A: Privacy is very important to our school district. Linewize Monitor is the only tool that holds all four major student data privacy certifications: COPPA, FERPA, CSPC, and ATLIS. In addition, Linewize has signed the Student Privacy Pledge from the Future of Privacy Forum (FPF) and the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA), further committing to protect student privacy.
What can parents do to ensure their student is safe online?
While Linewize Monitor acts as a threat detection tool, we encourage parents to regularly talk to their children about good digital citizenship and to report any potential cyberbullying or other sensitive issues to their school administration. It is also a great time to review the responsible our digital citizenship resources, use of technology Board Policy/Operating Guideline, and our Student Code of Conduct.
Q: Are there more resources about Digital Citizenship:
A: More resources:
