Remember that good time management is a MUST for a Virtual Learner.

Found on page 4 of our guide, you''ll see that we have the expectation for managing your day wisely:

"Good Time Management: Working with your teacher, you will need to be able to create and maintain a study schedule throughout the year for your asynchronous time. You must attend all Google meets and attendance/advisory (9:00 - 9:20) check-in each day."

You need to be visible during your class meets. That means you must have your camera on and be able to be seen by your teacher. Remember to dress appropriately and be in a workspace that is best for learning!

Be sure to update your laptop if you haven't done so already! Also make sure you have it fully charged and ready to go on Wednesday!

To update your Windows 10 computer, you can manually check for updates or use the Windows Update option in the Settings menu:

1. Select the Start button

2. Select Settings

3. Select Update & Security

4. Select Windows Update

5. Select Check for updates

If updates are available, you can choose to install them and restart your computer. You can repeat these steps until there are no more updates available.

Have you heard?

SMCPS students are to have their cellphones off and away during the school day. Obviously, at the Virtual Academy this will look a little different.

Students are expected to keep their phones off/turned away/away from them while they are meeting with their teachers. In addition, you need to have your TVs off, radio, and all of the other distractions.
