A Message From the Principal
Good afternoon,
A reminder that Parent/Teacher Conferences are being held in the main gym on Monday, November 25, 2024. Conferences are by appointment only, so if you were unable to make an appointment through the online scheduler, pikAtime, please reach out to your child's teachers through email for an update. Reminder that there is no school Monday, November 25 through Friday, November 29th.
As we approach the Thanksgiving break, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude to the students, staff, and families that make up the Fremont Middle School community. I am truly thankful for the incredible spirit of collaboration, learning, and kindness within our community.
May this Thanksgiving be a time of joy, rest, and togetherness for you and your friends and loved ones. Let us continue to cultivate gratitude and generosity in our lives and within our school.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Weather Closing Protocol
With the winter season just about upon us, please review this page as a reminder of our winter weather school closing procedures.
FSD79 is committed to making well-informed decisions that are in the best interest of the safety of our entire school community. In general, if school will be closed, the District will notify families and staff by 5:30 a.m. the day of the closing. Even if the schools are open, the final decision about a child’s attendance remains with the parent.
If schools will be closed due to winter weather, the District intends to utilize eLearning days in lieu of emergency days at the end of the school year.
Parent Book Club - “The Anxious Generation”
As part of our Parent University programming, FSD79 and the Fremont PTO will be co-sponsoring a Parent Book Club event on New York Times #1 Bestseller, “The Anxious Generation” by Jonathan Haidt. We will be hosting a one-night discussion on the book on February 11, 2025. For more information on the book club event, please visit our table at next Friday’s Reading Rally. Additional information will be shared with families in the near future. Secure your physical or audio copy of the book now to prepare for the discussion.

If your student needs to be picked up early, please notify our main office at 847-566-9384 or send an email to the receptionist, Karolina O'Malley, at komalley@fsd79.org. A parent/guardian or designated person must present identification to pick a student up early. Please note that the latest pickup time is 2:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 1:30 PM on Wednesday. Parents cannot park in handicapped parking spots near the gym as it interferes with bus pick up.
