EMK April Newsletter
Building The Foundation One Brick At A Time
Dear EMK Families,
Field trips are on the way at EMK. The First Grade students were able to visit Jenkinson's aquarium and Second Grade had a blast at the Six Flags Safari. Along with that we wrapped up the month with Take Your Child to Work Day. Many of our staff had their children attend the day and were able to work with our students. Below is a summary of some recent learning activities that occurred in Kindergarten.
We wrapped up the month of April at the K - 2 level with a STEM Night which had an AMAZING turnout. Thank you very much to all the teachers who supported this event. We are very proud of the home-school connection which was created by this event and to see the excitement of our learners.
We are looking forward to the month of May as we get close to the end of the school year. Attached is the ABC Countdown which is one way in which we begin the kick off to summer. This creates daily fun for our students at EMK!
Thanks,
Mr. Tozzi
Kindergarten Learning
In kindergarten, we have been focusing on writing CVC words in our Fundations and reading lessons. By using marker boards, magnet boards, and iPads, we are gaining word knowledge with a multisensory approach. At home, try to use materials like macaroni, play doh, strips of paper, shaving cream, or q-tips to form letters and words. Allow your child to tap out the sounds they hear and see what they can come up with!
We also learned about Earth Day at the end of April and incorporated our lessons into writing, music, and arts and crafts. Talk to your child about everything we learned about keeping our earth nice and clean!
