This month, we look forward to special events like Valentine’s Day activities, Black History Month, and our continued focus on fostering a love of reading, problem-solving, and collaboration among our students.

Stay Connected with ParentSquare!
KSD 140 uses ParentSquare for email, text, and voice messaging. This unified communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourages greater engagement and connection with the District. Families can choose their language preference and indicate how and when they want to receive information (email, text, and/or app notifications).
We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.
Please visit ParentSquare.com to register or download the free app for iOS or Android devices.
Emergency School Closings and eLearning Plan Review
If emergency days are needed due to snow or extreme cold, families will receive notification via an email/text message, and an alert will be posted on our District website. KSD 140 also communicates school closure information through the District’s social media accounts and the Emergency Closing Center (ECC). Detailed school closing information can be found here.
Parking Lot Procedures
The office has been receiving calls regarding cars who are not following the procedures during drop off and pick up. As a reminder, the back parking lot has a RIGHT TURN ONLY rule when exiting. Please follow this rule that was instituted by the Tinley Park Police Department. During morning drop off in the back, parents should not be exiting their cars. Please pull all the way forward (students should exit cars as far back as the dumpsters. Do not wait to pull all the way to the door) and instruct your student to exit the car on their own. If you need assistance, or need to park, please come to the front parking lot and let us know that you need help. The front parking lot is the only place parents can park and exit their cars to walk students in. During morning drop off in the front we have had cars getting out of line and driving around the line to get out quicker. Please do not do this as it causes a hazardous situation.
