New 2024-25 teacher at Tower View

Position: Math teacher

Experience: I have a background in teaching preschool and daycare, along with having been a special education paraprofessional. I was also in the Army Reserve as a religious affairs specialist, and I’m also a certified nursing assistant.

Education: Bachelor's in Social Welfare from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

What are your hopes as you join Red Wing Public Schools?

I hope to use my skills and passions to help foster an environment where students feel welcomed, accepted, and encouraged, and where they can learn the knowledge and skills that will help them succeed and excel in their lives!

What do you want your students to know from Day 1?

I would like students to know that I am here for them. They are accepted and welcome for who they are. I am here to help them succeed, in academics and in their lives in general. If they need someone to talk to, or a space where they feel comfortable and welcome, they can come to me. I just ask that they come with an open mind, a positive attitude, and some good effort!

When did you realize that you wanted to teach?

I have always wanted to teach, since I was little. I have taken many alternative paths since then, but I'm glad I have the opportunity to teach here this year.

What’s your first day of school memory?

I remember always waking up for the first day of school with my backpack packed and ready to go, my clothes specially picked out, and the excitement of seeing my best friend again when I step onto the bus. We would wake up early, eat breakfast, and stand out at the bus stop, full of excitement and anticipation for the full day ahead!

I loved knowing that the year ahead was was full of possibility, that I didn't know what was ahead of me, but I could start that year off with an open mind and a positive attitude.
