December 19 Christmas Program 12 Noon 3s and PK

Each year Butterfly School collects non-perishable food to give to families who need a little help for the holidays . Ms Chris, our wonderful chapel teacher, leads this event with a special bible lesson about the poor widow, teaching our students about generosity and faith.

We’re excited to partner again with Metrocrest Food Pantry. A letter went home with each class with information on what food items to collect. We encourage each child to be part of the giving experience! When shopping, consider letting your little one help pick out the items for our drive. Then let them place the item in the collection basket at school. This simple act lets our children see how small gestures of kindness can help others, teaching the joy of sharing and the importance of caring for others. Let's fill the baskets!

In Chapel we are learning that God made us and God helps us. The Bible teaches us to help each other. Like God helped the poor widow feed Elijah: 1Kings 17, we will help Metrocrest Services feed many families with a Butterfly School food drive. Each class will bring in a specified food item to fill up their class’ basket. The children will be so excited to help feed others after hearing our story about Elijah!

In the 4’s and 3’s classes we will begin the story of Jesus’ birth and practicing songs for our Christmas program. Don't be surprised if your children are singing our songs at home!!!

Our Bible verse for November is Colossians 3:15, “Always be thankful”. I am so thankful to be teaching your children about God’s word!

November will find us gobbling and wobbling! We will practice telling God thank you, learning how to take turns playing turkey chase games, and spending some time on our holiday performance songs!

Happy Fall! I’m so excited Art classes have started. I have missed all my friends. This month we jumped right into learning about primary, secondary and contrasting colors. The children did a wonderful job on their Wassily Kandinsky art project. On the back of each student's art project is a small description of the Artist and project. This month we will be continue working on shapes, lines and outlines and introducing a new artist of the month, Vincent Van Gogh.

In Science this month we will be talking about how to keep germs from spreading, watching chromatography in action while making tie-dyed coffee filters, learning about the physics of pancakes (yummy), and seeing the Maillard reaction with an added painting activity. Friday is such a fun day and I love how excited the kids get on Science Fridays!
