To end our year with a SPLASH! This day is meant to celebrate our great character and learning, and to celebrate all the SPLASH notes earned by our students.
WHAT YOUR STUDENT SHOULD BRING
1. Clothes/swimwear suitable for water play
2. A towel
3. A change of clothes
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
- Students should arrive at school in a modest swimsuit or clothes they plan to get wet. We ask that families ensure students' swim/water wear is appropriately modest for school.
- Rashguards are highly encouraged for all students since they will be playing in grassy areas!
- Students will have an opportunity to change into dry clothes at school, and they should be able to do this independently.
- Apply sunscreen before coming to school! Teachers will not be able to help with this, so be sure to add it into your morning routine on this day.

LET'S GET READY TO LEVEL UP & LEARN TOGETHER!
It has been so fun to watch the competition among our Dolphins as they cast votes for the theme for our upcoming school year! All 6 ideas were created, voted on, and submitted by students in each grade level.
Thank you to all our Dolphins who helped decide what the 24/25 school year will look like! This theme will guide our staff community in creating spiritwear, common area decorations, spirit days, and many other things. 4th Grade students created the WINNING THEME that received $853.91 in donations!
Thank you to everyone who donated money to the 3rd Grade Market! In total, our 3rd Grade students raised $1, 634 during this real-world simulation. The donations will go toward finishing Lilly’s Learning Lounge in the Donald Library which is set to open in Fall 2024.
We appreciate your support!
YEARBOOK UPDATE
We just received some disappointing news from our yearbook publisher, Balfour Publishing. They have informed us that our 2023-2024 yearbook will NOT be delivered before the end of the school year citing a massive manufacturing setback which has pushed all shipping dates back by several weeks. Please know Donald met the submission deadline to Balfour, and responsibility the delayed production and delivery has been fully owned by Balfour. Formal communication from Balfour can be read HERE.
At this moment, we are working with Balfour to get signature pages shipped to our school so that students can still have the experience of “signing” yearbooks next week as planned. This signature page has an adhesive strip along the side so that it can be easily attached into your student's yearbook once it is delivered.
Our current ship date is expected in early/mid June, and we will communicate with those who purchased a yearbook via email about pick-up dates/time once we have more information. If you are unable to pick-up your yearbook at the designated time, it will be held for pick-up in August. If you will be moving schools, please let Mrs. Rosier know (rosiera@lisd.net).
We are dedicated to making sure everyone gets their book. A late arrival doesn’t take away from all the great memories inside… they are still there!
SHREK THE MUSICAL JR.
Hear ye hear ye! Lord Farquaad has decreed that all citizens of Donald attend Forestwood Middle School Production Theatre’s performances of Shrek Jr. Monday May 20th and Tuesday May 21st, both at 6pm. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for adults. We heard it from the Muffin Man that there may be farting, burping, and dragons in the show, so run run run as fast as you can to see the greatest fairy tale never told.
Order your supplies from 1st Day School Supplies for a STRESS FREE back to school experience! Supplies come organized in a box for your student which means no store-hopping to find all the supplies on the list. The best part? The supplies are delivered right to your child's classroom so you don't have to worry about carrying tons of items through the August heat and into Meet the Teacher!

VOLUNTEER AT THE BACK TO SCHOOL FAIR
The LISD Back to School Fair takes lots of hard work and preparation each year. Many hands always make for lighter work, so we would love to have some members of our Donald community volunteer for the event!
If you are able to help with set up, clean up, or a variety of jobs during the fair, CLICK HERE to sign up for a volunteer position. It is so much fun to see the kids’ smiling faces as they walk around LHS through the different stations with their families, and they love seeing faces from their own campus and community serving them that day!
Check out all things Donald PTA by viewing the latest PTA Newsletter!
We would love to have you volunteer in our classrooms and at extracurricular events! To get started, JOIN the Donald PTA, and then complete your yearly VOLY Background Check. All volunteers must have a current VOLY Background Check, so if it has been a while since you completed this process, check in with the Donald Office Staff to see if you're approved!
