Upcoming Important Dates 📅
April 25th - Festival of San Jordi family Night from 5:30-7:00 (Books are still needed for our festival, if you have any to donate we would greatly appreciate it)
April 25th - Dual Language Information Session from 5:00-5:30 (see below for more details)
Fourth Grade Parents:
Fourth grade graduation will be held Tuesday, May 28th at 8:30am!
Dual Language Information Sessions
Sessions being held at FDES and DMIS
Please join us for an informational session on Dual Language. During this time we will be discussing the importance of Dual Language and providing a basic overview of what the program will look like next year.
All students who will be in grades k-4th next year should plan to attend the session at FDES on April 25th from 5:00-5:30pm
All students who will be in 5th grade next year should plan to attend the session at DMIS on April 23rd at 6:30pm
Purchasing Spring Pictures
Proofs of spring pictures were sent home with students last week. If you are planning to purchase them, please do so by the end of the week.
Pictures can be purchased by sending either cash or check to the office, or they can be purchased online.
SOLs
SOLs for all third and fourth grade students are coming quickly. Please see the list of dates below to ensure you are aware of testing dates. Also please review the list of ways to help your child be successful on these tests.
Dates:
April 24th and 25th - Third and Fourth grade Reading test
May 7th and 8th - Third and Fourth grade Math test
May 9th - Virginia Studies Test - Fourth grade only
What we need from you to support student success:
- Students need to be at school on time everyday.
- Make sure your child is at school on testing days - do not schedule outside appointments or pick students up early.
- Dress your child in comfortable clothes and layers so they are comfortable on the day of testing.
- Be sure they get a good night's sleep and try to create a stress free morning on the day of testing.
- Be sure your child has breakfast - all students have access to a free breakfast at school

Students in the Cottages
If your child's homeroom is currently in one of our cottages, please be aware that they need to be signed in and out of the office in the event of a late drop off or an early pick up. Parents are not to report directly to the cottages.
Thank you for your cooperation and help with keeping all students safe.
FCA Field Day
Breakfast and Drinks
If you are sending food or drinks into school with your child, please be sure you are following these guidelines:
If sending breakfast
- All food should be in a sealed container.
- Students should not come off the bus or out of a car with open food.
- Students should not eat food or remove it from a sealed container until they are sitting at a desk in their classroom.
If sending drinks
- Students should only bring water to school
- No soda. coffee, sports drinks, or other beverages are permitted
- Label the water bottle with your child's name
A reminder that all students are offered a free breakfast each morning.
🌏 Plastic Bag Recycling Program 🌏
Please continue to send in your plastic bags!! Even though we have met our goal, we want to see how many pounds of plastic bags we can collect between now and the end of the school year!!!
