BES Principal Newsletter

My apologies as I just realized I never sent out last week's newsletter. As I am sure you all know, as the year winds down, the amount special activities increase and the emotions run high as everyone prepares to leave school for the summer. With only 4 full days and 2 half days left, please encourage your kiddos remember to SOAR while at school and on the bus.

This newsletter won't be the official last one of the school year. I will send out one more short newsletter on 5/31 with lots of Super Kids Day pictures and info. Please make note of the important dates below and if you have any questions please reach out to the office or your student's teacher.

Next year, there will be some new faces in our building as we are hiring for three teaching positions due to retirements and the additional of the DK program. Ms. Tammy Laurin is retiring after XX years at Byron Area Schools. Mrs. Darci Williams will be moving into the role of PreK/CC Director while still working as title teacher part time. Mrs. Michelle Gerstler is retiring after XX years at Byron. Mr. Dan Cross is moving from 5th grade into the STEM position. Miss Ashley Criscenti is moving back up to 5th grade to teacher math and science. Last but not least, the DK classroom will be taught by Mrs. Niki Smith and the open kindergarten position is going to be filled by Mrs. Danielle Kacel. Interviews for these positions have begun and we hope to announce the new staff in early June!

We are so grateful for the year Mrs. Gerstler and Ms. Laurin have spent at BAS and the countless lives they've touched as educators. Although my time with each of them has been short, I have immensely enjoyed working with them as they are both selfless and dedicated teachers who truly care about the lives of their students, families and coworkers. Best of luck to them on the next endeavors!
