Dear Parents and Members of Our School Community,
As we approach the end of the term, it's a wonderful time to reflect on the many achievements and experiences we have shared at St. Denis. This newsletter is especially meaningful for me, as it marks my final communication as the Principal of this remarkable school. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to making our community such a vibrant and supportive place.
Firstly, I want to convey how much I have cherished my five and a half years here at St. Denis. It has been a time of learning and growth for me, and I will carry these lessons forward into the future.
I extend my deepest thanks to our parents for their unwavering support and trust. Your presence at assemblies, P&F meetings and school events has been invaluable. It has been inspiring to see parents actively engaging with our teachers and positively supporting their efforts. A special thank you goes to the P&F, led throughout my time by Justine Richelieu, Alex Garces and Gloria Osorio, with dedication and enthusiasm. Their efforts, along with those of their diligent executives and many parent volunteers, have made P&F meetings and events truly memorable and enjoyable.
My sincere gratitude also goes to the School Advisory Council for their steadfast support of my leadership. I wish to thank the Chairs, Sean Daniel and Chris Gooch, for their guidance and commitment.
To the students, you are the heart of St. Denis. Each day with you has been a rewarding and exciting experience, and I will miss each of you dearly.
I am deeply grateful to the staff who have worked alongside me. Their dedication, effort, and friendship have been truly exceptional. Together, we have fostered a cohesive and effective learning environment. I hope you will join me in recognising their hard work and commitment.
I also want to thank Fr. Anthony for his spiritual guidance and unwavering support.
As I bid farewell, I wish each and every one of you health, happiness and all the best for the future.
With regards and best wishes
Justin Tuohy

Congratulations to all our talented students who performed at the festival this term. This has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to show case their talents. Each performance required hard work, commitment and a lot of rehearsal time. There were many students who performed in more than one item. We even had a student perform six times.

St Denis Athletics Carnival
We are all looking forward to the St Denis Athletics Carnival for students from Pre-Primary – Year 6 on Friday 23 September. The weather forecast looks promising so it should prove to be a wonderful day.
Information for Parents
Parents are not permitted to enter the faction bays, approach the finish line or be on the running track. Any parents who come into this area will be asked to move and races will not commence until parents are in the designated spectator areas. Parents are also to avoid the faction bays at recess and lunch breaks.
We encourage all spectators to please support all the participants and the judge’s decision no matter the result. There will be no discussion on final places as all finish line results will be determined by the timing gates and chief judge.
Official Roles - Only parents who are in official roles are permitted on the track or recording tent when they are performing an official duty.
Water Bottles - All children must bring their own personal water bottle.
Team Games - During the Team Games component of the day, parents are permitted to leave the stands and watch their child on the oval.
Streamers and Balloons - We have been informed that crepe paper streamers and balloons are not permitted. If children are bringing streamers, they must be made of ribbon or fabric.
Conclusion of the Carnival - All children will gather with their classroom teacher. Parents must see the class teacher and get their name ticked off the roll prior to departing the carnival.
Visit from Andrew Chin
The music of Andrew Chinn is used in our school masses and hymn singing. Andrew visited our school on Monday and each class had a workshop with him. We finished off the day with a whole school concert. The students danced and sang with such joy! Andrew was very impressed with the enthusiasm of our students.
Footy Tipping
The St Denis Footy Tipping has concluded for another year. Thank you to everyone who was involved. Over $2300 was made for the P&F and therefore the school. Huge thanks to Vicky Tarrant for another year of magnificent organisation. I certainly hope next year will be just as successful.
Father’s Day
Huge thanks to Evelyn Soh and Elaine Doran and their amazing team of helpers who cooked and prepared the amazing feast we all enjoyed at the Father’s Day Breakfast.

St Denis Feast Day Thank You
This Friday the 13th of September is the St Denis Feast Day, and we are looking forward to celebrating with our school community at the Colour Run.
The P&F are overwhelmed by the generosity we have received from sponsors and would like to formally thank them as well as those generous donations from anonymous sponsors. An event like this wouldn’t be able to go ahead without their support.
