Pevely Elementary Weekly News
Good Morning Blackcat Families,
We have an exciting week ahead! On Thursday, we will be celebrating the St. Louis Cardinal's Home Opener with a spirit day! Be sure to wear red or your favorite Cardinals gear!
On Friday, we have Friday Reading at 2:30PM in classrooms. Doors will open in the back of the building at 2:15PM. The car line for dismissal will not start until 3:15PM to make sure everyone in attendance has exited the parking lot before starting the car line. Please park in an open parking spot or at Zion Lutheran Church until the line starts so everyone can exit the lot. If you are planning to sign-out your student from Friday Reading, please have your household password or contact the Front Office for assistance prior to the event starting.
I hope you are having a great weekend!
#GoBlackcats
Sincerely,
Ms. Katie Dunlap

Arbor Day Celebration- Herculaneum "Tree City USA"
Did you know that Herculaneum, MO is recognized as a Tree City U.S.A.? This designation, awarded by the Arbor Day Foundation, reflects the city's dedication to maintaining and expanding its tree canopy through active planting, care, and conservation efforts. By meeting the program's standards—including a tree board, a community forestry program, and an annual Arbor Day observance—Herculaneum demonstrates its commitment to sustainability and enhancing the quality of life for residents. This recognition showcases the city's ongoing efforts to promote green spaces and environmental awareness.
The Arbor Day Celebration will be at William C. Haggard Park on April 24th at 10:00AM. Several school groups of students from our district and community members will be in attendance. Please join the celebration to learn more about trees, planting trees, and their importance in our environment!
HHS Student Council Blood Drive
Red Cross Blood Drive-- March 25th
HHS Student Council is hosting a Blood Drive on Tuesday March 25th in the HHS Gym from 7:45am - 2:00pm.
We are working toward a goal this year of 58 units of blood donated. The more units of blood we are able to collect, the more money we are able to award to a graduating senior this year in the form of a scholarship.
If you are able, we encourage you to take some time and donate blood. In the United States, someone needs blood about every 2 seconds. Each donation helps to save 3 lives.
Please spread the word to friends and family members. Everyone is welcome!
To make an appointment, you can scan the QR Code on the flyer or email Mrs. Fitzgibbons (lfitzgibbons@dunklin.k12.mo.us).

We hope that spring is coming soon and we will not have any additional snow days, but if we do, we will continue to add days at the end of the school year.
