Cell Phone Reminders
Please remind your students to keep cell phones and AirPods in their lockers or at home. We have had an influx of students bringing cell phones to classes. Cell phones are not allowed during our school day. Please help us with this. Here is the language from our district middle school handbook:
Students are prohibited from using cell phones and other electronic communication devices during the instructional day unless given permission by an adult. Students also are prohibited from using a cell phone or other electronic communication device to engage in conduct prohibited by school district policies including, but not limited to, cheating, bullying, harassment, and gang activity.
If the school district has a reasonable suspicion that a student has violated a school rule or law by use of a cell phone or other electronic communication device, the school district may search the device. The search of the device will be reasonably related in scope to the circumstances justifying the search.
Students who use an electronic communication device during the school day and/or in violation of school district policies may be subject to disciplinary action pursuant to the school district’s discipline policy. In addition, a student’s cell phone or electronic communication device may be confiscated by the school district and, if applicable, provided to law enforcement.
Inappropriate and illegal use of cell phones and online postings: Students are warned that taking, posting, sending and receiving sexually explicit photos that are retrievable within a school facility or grounds, may result in suspension or expulsion by the school.
24-25 Transportation Reminder - IMPORTANT!
ISD 728 Transportation is continually working to create more efficient bus routes and we need your help to ensure the bus is ready for your student in the fall by completing a Student Transportation Information Form.
By letting us know the plan for your student before the school year starts, it will help the district address the ongoing bus driver shortage and continue to create more efficient and sustainable bus routes.
Completing a request is especially important for students that will:
ride the bus in the 2024-25 school year, when they previously have not been riding,
change schools (moving from elementary to middle school or middle school to high school),
be moving over the summer months,
have a daycare location that is changing, or
be in grade 11 or 12 and will need to utilize the bus next year.
This process will not change bus riding eligibility for students but will require parents/families of students in grades kindergarten through 12 to declare how their student(s) will get to and from school.
A Student Transportation Information Form must be received by June 30, 2024, to ensure that bus assignments will be ready to start the school year. Request forms received July 1st and after may not receive a bus assignment to start the 2024-25 school year. Submissions will be processed in the order received.
To complete a request, the parent/guardian should:
Login to Campus Parent Portal
Select 'Message Center' (left-hand menu)
Select 'Surveys' (main menu)
Complete 2024-2025 Transportation Survey* (complete one form per student)
*Please make sure to select the 2024-2025 Transportation Survey, as we are still accepting changes for the current school year also.
Transportation route information for next school year will be available in mid-August. Once route information is released there will be a short time period where changes will not be processed until after the start of the school year.
More information about transportation is available at www.isd728.org/Transportation along with a printable form.
