Week of February 3 - 7
A Message from Mrs. Ushery
Greetings Wynbrooke Parents,
Happy First Day of February!
We’ve had a great week of learning! We’re excited to celebrate Black History Month. Throughout the month, our students will engage in meaningful activities that honor the achievements, contributions, and rich cultural heritage of African Americans.
Additionally, as part of our Safe School Plan, we conduct monthly fire drills, as well as tornado and lockdown drills each semester to ensure the safety of our students and staff. This week, we conducted a school lockdown drill in preparation for the upcoming Safe Schools Audit, which will take place at all DeKalb schools. Please know that in the event of an actual emergency or potential threat, I will immediately notify parents.
Thank you for your continued support in keeping our school a safe and inclusive learning environment. We look forward to a fantastic month ahead!
Enjoy this beautiful weekend!
Proud to be your principal,
Mrs. Devetra Ushery

Comprehensive Access & Opportunity Audit
Dear DeKalb Community,
DeKalb County School District (DCSD), in partnership with Public Consulting Group (PCG), is conducting a Comprehensive Access & Opportunity Audit to improve educational outcomes and support our mission to promote the academic, social, and emotional growth of each student.
We are reaching out to invite your participation in two important ways:
· Your input is vital! Please take a moment to complete our survey.
· The survey is designed to gather your insights and experiences to inform the Audit. The survey will be open until February 3rd. Please access the survey link here
· PCG is hosting virtual and in-person focus groups for teachers, students, parents/ caregivers and school leaders.
· These sessions will allow you to share your experiences and contribute directly to shaping access and opportunities for all members of our school community.
· To volunteer for a focus group, please complete the form linked here.
· Participation is voluntary.
· Selection Process: To ensure equal opportunity, participants will be selected through a randomization process based on the responses submitted by one week prior to the focus group you selected. You will be informed whether or not you were selected for the focus group one week prior to the date. If you are selected to participate you will receive a calendar invitation with further details on what to expect. Completing the above form does not guarantee you a spot in a focus group.
Thank you for contributing to this meaningful effort to create inclusive and fair opportunities for all members of the DCSD community. Your voice matters, and we look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Dr. Triscilla Weaver

Greetings Wynbrooke Families!
Thank you to all the families that have donated items and/or time this week. We appreciate all you do! Remember you are required to complete 8 volunteer hours for each semester for a total of 16 to be completed May 16, 2025. For every $10 that is spent, you will earn 1 volunteer hour or the time spent assisting during school events can also count towards your hours. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at Jaumekia_M_Caver@dekalbschoolsga.org
If there is a sibling at another Dekalb County Theme School, you will only need to complete 8 hours here and also 8 hours at the other school. I can provide a letter to show completion of 8 hours here.
Please use the link below to see our current volunteer opportunities. Please remember when dropping off items in the front office to label them with your child’s name and homeroom teacher along with the receipt to ensure you get your credit.
