Campus Safety- A Message from Principal Walls
While we are charged with the education of our youth, safety always comes first. Lineweaver's student (and community) safety is my priority. I think it's important for our community to know of the measures we take as a school and district.
- Annual whole-staff safety protocol training from School Safety Dept
Updated Threat Assessment training for administration and other essential personnel; includes both physical and social/emotional safety and support components
School wide quarterly drill (that will include one of each "secure", "lockdown", and "shelter in place"); Monthly Fire drills, Twice annually Bus Evacuation Drills
We are a closed-campus, where the only point of entry is the front office during the school day; during arrival and dismissal, our three student entry-points are staff-supervised
Infrastructure that includes recent increased safety measures of buzzer entry, heightened fences to 8 feet, and reflective, penetration resistant window film. Future district projects include keyless entry and cameras.
Aside from these trainings, practice, and infrastructure that make for a safe community, we also know that when students and families feel connected to their school with a sense of belonging and know that adults care for them, they contribute safely. We strive to make these connections with students and foster relationships with them to give them the social and emotional care they need. We appreciate your support!
Character Trait of the Month: RESPONSIBILITY
Library Note and Wishlist from Ms. Draper!
Thank you so much to all of the families that have donated books to Lineweaver this year. Seeing books knocked off of the wish lists is exhilarating. The kids love having new titles to enjoy. Newly published books really help to jumpstart a love of reading in our students. As library assistants, throughout TUSD, we have a goal of creating library book collections that are newer and more relevant to the rising generation. Your support in this endeavor is more than I could have hoped for. Thank you so much for bringing newer books to our students here at Lineweaver. Please also consider filling out a volunteer application through the TUSD website and joining me in the library throughout the week and during our Scholastic Bookfairs (coming up in November). THANK YOU AGAIN! -Stephanie Draper
Election Day... a LW Success!
This October 3rd was Election Day for Student Council (STUCO) officers. Our fantastic STUCO sponsor, Mrs. Kenyon Richey, facilitated the student application and campaigning process. Student candidates wrote and delivered powerful speeches for all 4th and 5th grade students, who then cast their votes later in the day. Our school community can expect to see fundraising and school improvements all year, brought to you by STUCO!
PE Program Fundraising- HELP WANTED
In order for Lineweaver to continue having a full time PE teacher and Physical Education program within the school day, we need your help!!! We are assembling a committee of teachers/staff/parents to head up this work. PLease contact the front office if you are interested in joining this team. The team will meet with Principal Walls to develop an action plan.
All donations are accepted to Lineweaver “Gifts and Donations” to help us meet our goal of raising $75,000 by February 15th, 2025. Doing so will allow your child to continue having PE next school year. Our office manager, Lisia Langejans can help with your deposit. We are not even close to our goal... please help!

Annual Costume Parade 10/31
Lineweaver's annual Costume Parade will occur on Thursday, October 31st at 9am on the Columbus field. At this time, our school will gather in a large circle to walk a lap and show off costumes. Costumes are completely optional and must be school appropriate: no blood/gore or weapons. Masks are OK during the parade only. Costumes MAY be worn throughout the day as long as they are not a distraction and as the teacher permits.
