Seventh graders have wrapped up their unit on weather and have transitioned to the study of cells. Students will learn about cell parts and their processes. Students will be making a model of a cell as part of their study. Be on the lookout for information for this project as we head into winter break. We had a great time being amateur weather reporters as we reported current conditions to Channel 19 News.

Eighth graders have transitioned to the study of DNA and heredity this month. This unit is always one of the most interesting of the year. Students enjoy learning about how different traits are passed on to their offspring. We have learned about genotypes and phenotypes from dominant and recessive genes. Be ready for your student to ask questions about their inherited traits!
We also had the privilege of participating in the Mobile Energy Learning Unit during the month of December. It was a great experience for students as they worked through stations to learn more about energy. We are looking forward to having them back next year with their new learning kiosks!

We will be hearing from high schools for acceptances on January 17th! We can't wait to celebrate with the students as they are accepted to the high schools of their choice!
If you missed the opportunity to apply during this round of high school choice, there will be a second round opening at the end of January or beginning of February. More information will be provided in the new year!
