Branagan's Bulletin
Week of March 10 - 14, 2025
Welcome Back!
Hello MHS,
Welcome Back! I hope you had a great weekend. I am sure the turning of the clocks ahead this weekend and the loss of an hour of sleep are impacting us all. However, this loss of an hour of sleep is another step to the beginning of the spring. I love this time of year!
Our school has so much to celebrate this week, and I could not be prouder of our school community. I must recognize the tremendous journey of the Boys Basketball Team and their pursuit of a state championship. Each player gave everything they had during their final game on Tuesday evening. I am beyond proud of each of you. Also, the amount of fans that traveled to every game was outstanding. The Orange and the Black travels well and it was evident every step of the way. Thank you to the members of the Class of 2025 for your leadership and commitment to your sport!
Additionally, I had the good fortune to spend the week with 28 members of the Student Council who attended the state conference for the Massachusetts Association of Student Councils (MASC). To see our student leaders represent our school with such pride and excellence was truly amazing. Each member of the delegation led with pride and learned new things to make our school even better. Also, it must be stated that our TV Production Program truly shined at the conference as they captured all of the amazing moments of the conference.
Lastly, I truly hope that each of you found success as you reviewed your Quarter III Progress Report. It is vital to assess how you started the year in September and see the growth you have had in your learning. I hope your Progress Report has given you the motivation to push yourself to FinishSTRONG.
I can't wait to see you.
Have a good week and always remember that we are SachemSTRONG.
Bran

MHS and the Middleborough Public Library Presents
Middleborough High School has been working with the public library and Overdrive for the last few weeks to bring a cool opportunity for our students to access books. Mrs. Phillips has arranged for students in the district to have access to public library eBooks and audiobooks without a library card. They can get them through Sora using their school credentials. Please check out the Smore explaining all this. Please see Mrs. Phillips in the Learning Commons with any questions.

Inclement Weather Procedure
As we head into the colder months of the school year, we wanted to share with you some information about inclement weather and how we will approach the decision making process of school delays and/or closure. One of the most difficult challenges we have is deciding whether or not to cancel or delay school due to inclement weather. Like weather forecasting, the school-closing decision process is not a perfect science. However, we believe it is important for students and families to understand how it works as Middleborough has its own unique set of factors that are taken into consideration when determining delays and/or cancellations.
We recognize that the decision to cancel school for the day is impactful on all families. Student and staff safety will always be my top priority as I navigate these decisions. We hope you find this information helpful in your planning for the coming winter months and helps everyone understand the process used to make the best possible decision for our students and staff.
