Recap of the Week!
4th graders hard at work!
Mr. Tejkl had the pleasure of stepping in with Mrs. Arbuck's 1st grade class this afternoon! They did a wonderful job with identifying proper nouns!
A & P
Learning the bones and their markings isn’t always an easy task but the S-RC Anatomy & Physiology students had a great time reviewing these terms and learning the structures by labeling skeletons and decorating the secondary hallways for Halloween! Happy Halloween Huskies!
A & P (continued)
More skeletons from the A&P class. These kids are so passionate about medicine and it has been so fun to teach them this year. They have nothing but bright futures ahead of them! #proudteachermoment #rollskies

FFA National Convention Wrap-up
National FFA Convention 2021 has come to an end. We are officially back in Nebraska, and so close to being home.
This year I took 8 girls to nationals, all except one the first time. These girls are more than students in my classroom or members in my chapter or officers of our officer team. These girls are “my kids”! They are part of my family. Just like any family we aren’t perfect, and at times we can all be pretty dysfunctional but we have our fun. Although we had a few hiccups on our trip getting to watch these girls experience Indy and Louisville (even if they didn’t know it was in Kentucky) reminded me of my why once again. I am so thankful to have shared this experience with them.
But today was was truly one of the highlights of my four years of teaching as I watch 3 of my past students walk across the stage to receive the first American Degrees for the Shelby - Rising City FFA Chapter. I could not be more proud of these three and the time and commitment they have put in to our chapter and our organization! My eyes may have gotten just a little sweaty watching them receive their degrees.
Life is good when you are doing what you love with people who make you laugh!
Shelby Chamber of Commerce!

Message from Mr. Tejkl
“Failing is a good thing..."
Good afternoon!
Happy Halloween! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and that your Sunday is going great! To those who are going out tonight, please stay warm and be safe! Wear plenty of reflectors, be mindful of traffic and enjoy your time making those memories!
How can failing be a good thing? We live in a world that continually tells us that failing is bad and that you must avoid it at all cost. However, failing is not a downfall. Failing is the opportunity to rise up, learn from previous mistakes and learn how to become better. Learning starts with failure. The greatest lesson that life gives us is those failing moments. It is an opportunity to build our character and learn that failing isn't a bad thing IF you are willing to overcome and push through.
Whether we are students, teachers, parents or anyone in the world; we will fail at some point and we will do it multiple times. It is important to be able to have that self-refection on what happened, where did it go wrong, accept that it happens and learn from it. Making excuses won't help the situation and it creates an environment that can lead to no responsibility. I'll be the first to admit that I have had plenty of mistakes throughout my time and I will make more in the future I'm sure. We must stay humble, admit when it goes wrong and embrace the change that comes from those mistakes.
Through the changing of the seasons, there will be many challenges that we face. Continue to push through those hard times, ask for help if needed and know that you have support everywhere you turn! Just remember, we are always always learning and continuing to grow as individuals!
Have a great Sunday and let's have a great week!
