Arrival Drop Off
Arrival Drop Off
We have noticed some safety concerns with students being dropped off too early. Unfortunately, this has led to injuries from students playing, running in front of cars, and other unsafe behaviors. To ensure everyone's safety, please do not drop off students before 8:25 AM.
Please also, do not drop off students in the road, the only option for drop off is for students to walk up or be dropped off in the car loop, not the road.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our Wranglers safe!
Volunteering/ Chaperoning
Volunteering/ Chaperoning
As we move into the Spring, I wanted to remind families that being a volunteer or chaperoning field trips involves applying through the district as well as doing fingerprinting ($41.25 per person which covers 5 years). If you are interested in volunteering for things such as supporting field day, chaperoning field trips, or other school events, please be sure to take care of this sooner than later.
All details, procedures, and the application can be found here:

Counselor's Corner
Hello Wrangler Families! The impact of positivity is so important for your child. Positive affirmations are a powerful tool to give to your child. Positive affirmations create a positive self-image and growth mindset. It can also decrease negative self-talk. Affirmations can be given verbally or written. Give your child daily affirmations and have your child repeat them using “I statements.” For example, the parent says, “You can do hard things” and the child says, “I can do hard things.” Children need to know that the people they love and trust believe in them before they can believe in themselves. Even adults like to receive positive affirmations. Writing the affirmations where they can be seen daily can be a helpful reminder to your child so their overall self-esteem increases and they start to believe the words they see and hear. It is good to teach your children that they can come up with some affirmations on their own too. Here are some examples of positive affirmations: You can achieve anything, you are smart, you are unique and it is great, you can reach your goals, I believe in myself, and I am learning and growing each day. Please reach out if you feel your child needs to work on their positive self-image.

School Wide Expectations
Be Responsible: Being responsible is coming to school on time, being prepared and ready to learn, and using good character. It is important to do what is expected and always try your best.
Be Safe: Being safe is making choices that keep yourself and others free from harm. We work hard on teaching Self Control. This is keeping hands, feet, hurtful words and objects to ourselves.
Parents and families can reinforce these same ideas at home and in the community. When we are all using the same language, a child can truly understand and practice these skills.
School Lunches
Pasco County Schools Food & Nutrition Services will be implementing a program called the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). All enrolled students of Pasco County Schools are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch at school at no charge to their household. No further action is required. Students will be able to participate in these meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit a meal application. A la carte items will still be available for purchase including additional meals and/or components of the meals. Families can reach out to Food & Nutrition Services directly through Let’s Talk, call FNS at 813.794.2480, or email FNS_Finance@pasco.k12.fl.us if they have any questions regarding this new program.
Parents are highly encouraged to make advance payment for a la carte items by utilizing www.MySchoolBucks.com. Any check made to Woodland Elementary that is returned for insufficient fund will be assessed a $25.00 fee.
Cell Phone Policy
For all Pasco County Schools
Grades Pre-K through 5: Students in grades Pre-K through 5 who bring WCDs (wireless communication devices) to school must ensure that they remain on silent mode and completely out of view for the entire school day. Classroom teachers may also provide, and student may utilize, a cell phone storage area in their classroom. Students will need to put their cell phones on silent and their smart watches and put them in the bookbags once arriving on campus each day. Please have a conversation with your child prior to the first day of school so they know that they MUST silence their devices and put them away during the ENTIRE school day- no exceptions. Refer to pg. 32 of the Student Code of Conduct for more details and corrective actions/confiscation of device procedures.
