• I hope you are all having a wonderful summer and enjoying some extra time with your children! I wanted to send this out to update you on some exciting news and provide you with some information about the start of the new school year.

• I am pleased to announce that I have hired a new school nurse, Kat Brow, and a new after school program director, Kennedy Strakose-Griffin. I am still working on finding an after school program assistant and a part-time custodian.

• Because we have a new ASP director, we will again be able to provide before and after school programs this year. The before school program will start be available from 7:30-8:30 and the after school program will be open from dismissal time until 5:30.

• On Friday, August 23rd, the PTO is inviting everyone to come to school for their annual Back To School Ice Cream Social. This is a great time to come and celebrate the start of a new school year. You'll have the chance to meet some new friends and staff members and reconnect with some old ones. Plus, who doesn't love free ice cream??

• The first day of school for students is Wednesday, August 28th for grades K-6. School begins at 8:30 with our First Day Celebration! On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week, dismissal will be at 12:30. From 1:00-3:30, teachers will be holding intake conferences with any families that would like to participate. This provides the time for families and teachers to meet each other, share their hopes for the year, and get to know each other a bit. This home/school partnership is critical to supporting students throughout the year. If you are interested in participating in a conference, please contact Sandy White in the front office, unless you have heard directly from your child(ren)'s teacher.

• The start to preschool follows a slightly different schedule. Wednesday, August 28th is set aside for home visits. Ms. Chmura will be in touch with families to schedule those. On Thursday, there will be a staggered schedule with half of the class coming from 8:30-10 and the other half attending from 10:00-11:30. Friday will start the regular preschool schedule.
