Worthington Hills Weekly Update
May 22, 2025
Worthington Hills Families,
What an incredible year it's been! We've learned, grown, laughed, explored, created, and overcome challenges together—and I couldn't be prouder of our amazing Hawkeyes. Each day, your children have shown the Hawkeye Way by being Thinkers, Leaders and Friends, and it’s been a true joy to watch them shine.
The growth we've seen this year has been nothing short of inspiring. From the smallest victories to the biggest milestones, your children have truly made this year unforgettable.
As summer begins, I encourage you to soak up every moment—make memories, stay up too late, eat ice cream for breakfast, visit the library, go skating, ride bikes, go to the drive in theater, and enjoy all the little things that make summer special.
To our 5th graders: We’ll miss you dearly, but we know you’ll continue to do amazing things at McCord Middle School. Keep leading with kindness and confidence—you’re ready!
To our PTA: Thank you for always going above and beyond for out students & staff. A heartfelt thank you to all of our families for your constant support, communication, and partnership. You make our school community stronger every day.
Congratulations to Ms. Grohovsky on your retirement! After 36 years of pouring love, learning, and dedication into students, you’ve earned this next chapter. Thank you for the lasting impact you’ve made at Worthington Hills and beyond. We wish you all the best as you head into a joyful and well-deserved retirement!
Have a fun-filled, restful summer. We can't wait to see you back in August, Hawkeyes!!
Make it a great summer!
Warmly,
Tiena Miller
Principal

A Note from The Ward Family
Dear Worthington Hills, teachers, staff, and parents,
As Max finishes out his last few days of 5th grade at Worthington Hills, we wanted to take the opportunity to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you. When Max started elementary school, we had no idea if he would ever be able to attend a traditional elementary school. When we transitioned back to Worthington school district we were obviously anxious and nervous about how Max would do. I don’t think we could have ever imagined how much he would grow over the next 4 years.
Worthington Hills is not our home elementary, but we were so incredibly fortunate to have been placed at this school. The amount of kindness, acceptance, and support that everyone has shown Max over the last 4 years has been absolutely amazing. We worried about whether he would make friends, but moving onto McCord Middle School next year he already has a group of soon to be 6th graders that he calls “my friends”. We worried that his autism would cause him to be excluded from a lot of things. This couldn’t have been further from the truth. With support from his aids, his teachers, and his friends (even independently at times) he was able to participate in Halloween parades, skating parties, run club, music concerts, the fifth grade musical, and most recently the talent show. These may seem like typical things for an elementary student to do, but for someone with autism, these are huge accomplishments. As parents, it has brought us so much joy to watch him gain confidence and be so proud of himself each step of the way.
We want to thank everyone for accepting us into your community, we have built so many relationships here. We came in not knowing anyone and have met so many amazing people. More importantly we are grateful to the parents and teachers who have instilled the values in the kids at this school to treat Max with such kindness and acceptance, you are all doing an amazing job. You are truly living your values and raising Leaders, Thinkers, and Friends.
Thank you for an incredible 4 years.
