Dear Families of the Bay
As we head into the week before the holiday break, we want to take a moment to thank you for your partnership and support throughout this school year. This season is a wonderful time to celebrate accomplishments, reflect on growth, and look forward to the opportunities ahead.
To help your student transition smoothly into the holiday break and back into school afterward, we encourage you to focus on maintaining some consistent routines:
Sleep Schedules: Regular sleep patterns help students feel rested and ready to learn, even after a break.
Quality Time: Use this time to connect as a family, whether through shared meals, games, or special traditions.
Intentional Reading: Encourage your student to enjoy a good book or spend some quiet time reading to keep their minds engaged and curious.
Our team is looking forward to making this week meaningful and fun for students while continuing to support their learning. Thank you for your dedication to your student’s success and for being such an integral part of our school community.
Wishing you and your family a joyful and restful holiday season!
Mrs. Marshall - Principal
Ms. G - Assistant Principal
Mrs. Pingel - Dean of Students
Spirt Week: December 16 - 20
Areas of Focus Returning from Break:
As we prepare to welcome students back after the holiday break, we want to share a few important reminders about school policies that help create a positive and productive learning environment.
This coming January, we will focus on reinforcing expectations in the following areas:
Cell Phones and Earbuds:
Cell phones and earbuds should only be put away in lockers between the hours of 7:55-2:25. These policies are in place to minimize distractions and ensure students are fully engaged in learning.
Hallway Behavior:
Students are expected to use respectful and purposeful behavior in the hallways. This means walking calmly, staying to the right, and moving promptly to their destinations.
Bathroom Use:
We continue to face challenges with vandalism and destruction in our school bathrooms. This is unacceptable, and we will be working closely with students to reinforce the importance of respecting school property. Misuse of the bathrooms will result in consequences, and additional supervision may be implemented as needed.
Your support in discussing these expectations at home is invaluable. When families and school staff work together to emphasize the importance of these policies, we create a stronger and safer environment for all students.
Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a positive school culture. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

30 Minutes of Reading at Home for Our OBJ Students Everyday!
We want all our students at OBJ to spend 30 minutes reading at home each day. It’s a wonderful way to build strong reading skills, expand their imagination, and enjoy some quiet, focused time.
This small daily habit can make a big difference in fostering a love for reading and supporting the great work they’re doing in the classroom. Whether it’s a favorite novel, a graphic novel, or an engaging nonfiction book, every minute spent reading adds up!
Let’s work together to make reading a fun and valuable part of every day. Happy reading! 📚
