Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
Science week has been an incredibly positive event with children enjoying various opportunities to learn an array of different science topics in addition to their core learning. At HJS we are very proud of our science curriculum and having observed a number of lessons, and reviewed their science books this week, I can confirm that your child is receiving an excellent science offer. As science lead for HJS, I would like to thank Miss De Beer for all her hard work and enthusiasm.
I have received a number of complaints this week from residents at Newfield Close, opposite the school. Please do not park in any of the residential spaces. These can be found at the back of the flats and next to the Scout hut. The security company who manage these spaces do have the facility to clamp and fine cars who are parked illegally.
Following the success of the last Rags2Riches event, we will once again be asking you to have a clear out at home and fill your bags on Tuesday 19th March. Please bring all bags to the Honeycomb (building on the back playground ,next to the vehicle gates). Thank you so much for your support!
The eagerly awaited Red Nose day takes place for most classes tomorrow. Please remember this is a 'break the school uniform day' in which children can break the following rules for a donation towards Red Nose Day. Please use the link below to make payment:
Wear a Red Nose 50p
Wear own tops/jumpers 50p
Wear own jeans/trousers/leggings/skirts 50p
Colourful Hair 50p
Wear own shoes 50p
Wear nail varnish 50p
Face paint 50p
Finally, I hope that all parents had a positive parent/teacher consultation this week. If you were unable to make an appointment, your class teacher will make one attempt to arrange a 10 minute phone call with you. Thank you again for all your support and kind words regarding the staff - they really are an outstanding bunch of professionals.
Mr Jon James

By accepting the place, you will continue to remain on the waiting lists of any schools you have listed as a higher preference. Thank you
Coffee Morning - Tuesday 19th March
During the week of 18th March we will be celebrating Neurodiversity across the Partnership. We will be having a coffee morning in the Rose Hall at Hampton Juniors from 8.50am – 10am and all parents are welcome from across the partnership.
This is an opportunity to meet with the Inclusion team as well as other parents.
The Inclusion Team:
· Lisa Maxted - HPP SENCo
· Chloe Hughes – HISN SEND Lead Teacher
· Gemma Delaney - HJS SEND Lead Teacher
· Karen Finnegan - HPP Parent Support Advisor
Also in attendance is our Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner, Jess Butler. She will be invited to talk about the services she can offer to pupils and parents who are seeking support with their child’s behaviour or anxiety.
If you would like to attend, could you email Lisa Maxted via the office (office.hisn@hpp.school or office.hjs@hpp.school) so that we have a rough idea of numbers?
SAVE THE DATE - Tuesday 19th March
Collection bags have now been handed out to all children. We do have a few spares in the office so please come and grab one if you need an extra bag.
Year 4 News
4P were proud to showcase all that they had learnt during a parent assembly this week. The children had completed their brass lessons with Richmond Music Trust and am sure everyone enjoyed the performance.
Lego
6B had a brilliant time last Tuesday, exploring time through Lego. They were able to make structures based on specific time periods. How Great!
