Required Graduation Attire
Students and families are to be reminded that commencement is a dignified ceremony. It is important to dress in a manner consistent with the tradition of dignity on this occasion. This includes the wearing of shirts with collars and ties, dress shoes, dress slacks, and/or skirts or dresses. Please note that the wearing of heels is prohibited as graduates will process a long distance and down steps to their seats. Sneakers or open toe shoes/sandals/crocs of any kind are also prohibited. Small wedges or short chunk heels are appropriate and permitted but flats are strongly suggested.
Gowns must have a clean look/wrinkle free and graduation caps are to be free of any decorations. Because the tassel, stole, and cord are the ways in which we recognize academic achievement, only those items can be part of graduation attire. Students with questions regarding dress attire, or needing assistance meeting this standard, should contact Ms. Roderetta Green greenrt@fultonschools.org.
Graduation dress code will be strictly enforced.
Proper graduation decorum is mandatory.
Students who do not adhere to these graduation guidelines will be subject to removal from the graduation procession/ceremony.
Asynchronous Learning Day (Grades 9-11) Class of 2025 Graduation May 15th

Students will complete asynchronous ARROWS assignments following their B-Day schedule (4 periods). Please ensure your student(s) complete these assignments as completion will be used to mark their attendance for each class period.
SGA City Proclamation Honorees
Honored. Inspired. Empowered. During Georgia Cities Week, Creekside's SGA was recognized with a proclamation celebrating the impact of civic-minded youth leaders who embody engagement, leadership, and service.
Mentor Of The Year
Creekside High’s Timothy Richmond has been named Youth Villages Georgia’s Mentor of the Year.
The honor was presented Tuesday, April 29 at Youth Villages’ Mentor & Volunteer Dinner held at Copeland’s on Cobb Parkway.
Timothy, an AP African-American studies and U.S. history teacher, has been a part of Youth Villages’ Chris Crye Mentoring Program since he was a student at Atlanta’s Emory University.
Joining the program in 2019, he has mentored eight young people ranging from ages 9 to 18.
“I think the reason why Timothy is such a successful mentor is he listens,” said Katrina Word, mentoring supervisor for Youth Villages Georgia. “He is the most non-judgmental person you will ever meet.”
Youth Villages is a national leader in mental and behavioral health committed to finding the most effective solutions to help children, families and young adults overcome obstacles and live successfully. Located on a beautiful, 1,200-acre wooded space in Douglasville, the Youth Villages Inner Harbour Campus is home to residential treatment programs for children and youth with serious emotional and behavioral challenges.

Text4Help
Text4Help was introduced in 2018. It offers students a confidential and anonymous way to receive mental health support from licensed clinicians by texting their unique school code to the Text4Help hotline: 1-844-201-9946.This service is available to all high school and middle school students in our district where they will be connected to a live mental health professional within three minutes.
As we approach Spring Break, it is imperative that we revisit and share information like this with our students to seek help with mental health, drug education, or addressing peer issues.
- Increased Usage: Since the start of the school year, we have seen a significant increase in the number of students utilizing the Text4Help service. This rise indicates a growing awareness and trust in the program among our student body.
- Expanded Support: In response to the increased demand, we have partnered with additional mental health professionals to ensure timely responses to all inquiries. Students can expect a response within three to five minutes.
Middle and High Schools are asked to disseminate Test4Help resources before spring break, testing season, and prom. This is when we see an increase in mental health concerns. Schools will be sent hardcopy materials and resources and below is a link to school flyers as well.
Please see the linked resources:

CHS Arrows Days: May 8th, and May 9th
CHS ARROWS
At Creekside, we practice Acceleration, Re-engagement and Reassessment Opportunities While in School.
Our next Arrows days will be May 8th (A day) and May 9th (B day)
Introduction
The ARROWS Program is designed to ensure all students learn to their full potential by providing them multiple opportunities to demonstrate mastery of course standards.
Students will be offered one designated day in each class each month to accelerate learning, re-engage in content, and reassess content standards to support work in demonstrating mastery in order to earn course credit to remain on track for graduation.
The ARROWS Program will allow teachers additional opportunities to differentiate instruction by meeting individual student needs in the remediation of non-mastered standards and/or enrichment of mastered standards.
The ARROWS Program aligns with Fulton County Schools board policy and Creekside High School’s Semester Action Plan.
Per FCS Board Policy IHA-L, Appendix A
Fulton County Schools believes students who have not yet provided evidence of mastery should have the opportunity for reteaching, relearning, and/or reassessment.”
Program Overview
ARROWS will occur for the entire block in all classes on a monthly basis as outlined on the calendar below for the duration of the 2024-2025 school year.
Students who have failed to demonstrate mastery on the targeted standards on majors/minors for ARROWS will receive reteaching and reassessment for the specific standards and/or complete missing assignments.
Students who have demonstrated mastery on the targeted standards for the ARROWS session will be provided enrichment tasks for the specific standard(s).
Teachers will update grades from ARROWS Day assignments within 5 working days within Infinite Campus. See calendar below for specific dates.
Implications for PLC
Teachers will work with the Instructional Coaches to create their ARROWS action plan approximately one week before the month’s ARROWS day. Plans will include standards, activities for each tier (re-teaching/remediation, practice, enrichment), and the list of students assigned to each tier per class.
PLCs will reflect on department-level data related to ARROWS planning, improvement in student mastery, and best-practices.

Youth LEAD Georgia Summit
We want to make you aware of a tremendous opportunity available to rising 11th and 12th grade students in Georgia. Once again, the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development at the University of Georgia, in partnership with Chick-fil-A, Inc.®, will host a statewide youth leadership summit this summer on the UGA campus.
The 2025 Youth LEAD Georgia Summit will take place on July 17-18, and we are seeking to host at least one rising 11th or 12th grade student from each of our state’s school districts. Furthermore, thanks to the generosity of Chick-fil-A®, there is no cost to students participating in the summit.
This summit provides students with an incredible opportunity to hone their leadership skills, build relationships with peers, experience the UGA campus, and discuss issues facings Georgia’s youth.
We encourage you to identify rising 11th and 12th grade students that you believe would enjoy and benefit from this opportunity and ask them to consider applying by forwarding them this application link: https://ugeorgia.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_6J9k8MAySaaE4Z0
We will accept applications through April 30 and will notify students of a decision regarding selection for the summit in May.
Student Laptop Distribution & Lost/Stolen & Damaged - Fines
Our technology team will begin issuing fine letters this week. Parents, please be advised that students have been assessed a fine of $100 for damaged laptops, $250 for lost laptops and $30 for each lost/damaged charger. These fees have been charged to their student accounts. Please ensure that your child manages their device appropriately to avoid these fees.
The school provides technological devices to support students in their learning, and it is essential to maintain these devices in good condition for future use. Unfortunately, replacement or repair costs become necessary when a device is lost or damaged to ensure other students have access to these resources.
If your child has fines, please resolve this matter by submitting your payment for the outstanding fines via our online school payment system. You can make payments by clicking the link on our Creekside High School website for the appropriate lost or damaged laptop or charger. Click payments at the bottom of the page.
Unresolved fines will lead to restricted access to future technology checkouts and could impact your student's ability to clear for graduation.
Thank you for your prompt attention and continued support.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please reach out via email to Mr. Simon at Simone1@fultonschools.org.

NO food, candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought or homemade)
Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we approach the upcoming holidays, it important to remind parents and families that candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought/homemade), or any other edible items are not to be sold or distributed at school or on the bus unless approved in advance by school administration. Per our Student Code of Conduct, students who do not adhere to this expectation are subject to disciplinary action for violation 7A: Failure to Follow Rules and all candy or food items will be confiscated. Please discuss this expectation and possible consequences with your student(s) as this will be taken very seriously. This is due to recent national and state reports about students sharing edible items and synthetic medications with other students that contain very harmful substances.
Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package.
Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping all of our students safe at school!
Report, Don't Repost
“Report, Don’t Repost” aims to help students and families to understand the importance of reporting threats seen on social media, rather than reposting them. In today's digital age, harmful content can spread quickly, creating panic and confusion. By encouraging our community to report threats directly to local authorities or use our anonymous tip line, simultaneously helping to prevent the spread of misinformation. Students also need to understand passing along threats online slows down police investigations and could result in charges to them.
Key points:
- If you see or hear a threat on social media, report it to local authorities immediately.
- You can also Report a Safety Concern anonymously at www.fultonschools.org/tipline.
- Do not post on social media where it can cause confusion and put you at risk.

Appropriate shoes must be worn at all times at school and school sponsored activities. No house slippers are allowed.
Cell Phones Strictly Prohibited During Instructional Time
Additionally, per the Fulton County Code of Conduct, personal communication devices (i.e., cell phones) are not allowed during instructional class time unless permission is provided by the teacher or other school staff member. Cell phones out of compliance will be confiscated and returned only to a parent/guardian. Repeated offenses may result in the student losing the privilege of having a cell phone on campus for the academic year.
Cell phones are also strictly prohibited for non-educational purposes, including recording fights, battery, or other inappropriate content. Consequences for doing so may result in a disciplinary hearing referral for long-term suspension.
Student Laptop Distribution & Lost/Stolen & Damaged - Fines
All Creekside students will be issued their student devices and chargers during the first two weeks of school. Be advised that students who lose or damage their devices and chargers will be subject to a $250 (lost/stolen device), $100 (damaged device), or $35 (lost/damaged charger). Students with existing missing/damaged device fines from prior school years at Creekside will only be issued a replacement device this year with payment of their outstanding device fines. It is imperative that your child keeps track of and takes care of their student devices and chargers.
