East Side Connect - April 2024

Message from the Superintendent
Hello East Side,
We are nearing the final months of the school year! I for one am looking forward to the graduation of the Class of 2024! It has been inspiring to see our community come together and embrace and overcome the challenges we faced this year in support of reaching equitable communities throughout the East Side. Thank you for being a part of the work and supporting every student, every day.

Santa Clara County Fair Poster Contest
In celebration of the 80th year of the Santa Clara County Fair, there is a unique opportunity for ESUHSD artists to create a commemorative fair poster. The Santa Clara County Fair has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 1941 when 97 acres were purchased from the Macomber Family. As time passed, the fairgrounds underwent significant expansion and development, including the addition of several buildings, the San Jose Speedway Racetrack, and the construction of a replica of the State House on the fairgrounds.
In this competition, the Santa Clara County Fair is looking for young artists to channel their creative talents to illustrate how Silicon Valley has evolved over the years, transitioning "From the Fields” to the transformation of a tech-based landscape “The Future.” Let your artistic vision capture the essence of this journey to celebrate the 2024 Santa Clara County Fair.
