November is the time of year when we think about gratitude and thankfulness. What are you thankful for? We are thankful for each and every one of you and the opportunity to partner with you to give your child the Head Start advantage in education and overall success. October was a month of celebrating Head Start awareness, Fall Science Night and the Sanchez Halloween parade. Let's take a look at what November will bring!

Every year our staff, students and families come out to participate in the Sanchez Halloween Parade. Many thanks to Assistant Director Loretta Gallegos, Claudia Alvarez and her child, Sonya Gonzalez, Gigi Guerrero (with son Levi), as our staff members present. Parents Jenny Villela and Ana Gutierrez came with their children and a fun time was had by all!

Park only on the full curbs on Dinard and Mapledale. Neighbors have come to the Ramona office to complain that cars are parked in front of their driveways, blocking the edge, which prevents them from exiting. Please be kind and park only where there is space to do so without blocking our neighbor's property. The red curb means “no parking” as does the blue and white striping on the circle. The red curb needs to be open for the bus. The circle area needs to be open in case of an emergency, as this is where the emergency vehicles would need to park.

Arriving on time to class daily is crucial to your child's success in early education. As a reminder, please take note of when the door opens, class begins and the time your child is considered tardy each day.

The Early Education Toddler and Preschool classroom environment is guided by The Creative Curriculum for Preschool and Toddlers which is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum that features exploration and discovery as a way of learning, enabling children to develop confidence, creativity, and lifelong critical thinking skills. It is designed to support teachers to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate, content-rich program for children with diverse backgrounds and skill levels.

As we study trash and garbage and how we can reduce, reuse, and recycle, we will learn concepts and skills in literacy, math, science, social studies, the arts, and technology. We will also be developing thinking skills to observe, investigate, ask questions, solve problems, make predictions, and test our ideas. We will ask and answer questions like where does garbage go when we throw away our trash, what do the workers do with trash, how can we reuse junk and how can we help the community?

A positive and peaceful approach to Parenting presented by Conscious Discipline on December 11, 2024, from 6-8pm. Dinner will be provided. You don't want to miss this chance to gain insight and support specific to parents and caregivers.

Let your children learn to love eating vegetables with Chef Lily and Roasting a Rainbow- just in time for family traditions and hearty holiday meals. Healthy eating is important at every age. Families can help children enjoy healthy lives every day.

Make a healthy seasonal snack!

Clementine pumpkins

Ingredients:

• clementine oranges, peeled
• 1 stalk of celery

Directions:

1. Cut the celery stalks into "pumpkin stems." Cut a 1 inch piece of celery from the stalk , and slice this lengthwise into thin strips.

2. Place each 'stem" into the center of the clementine.
