Bordeaux Elementary School
December 1, 2024
Dear Families,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful four day weekend. It’s a quick transition from November to December and before we know it Winter Break will be upon us. However, there’s still lots of work and learning to do between now and then. Every day your students should be coming home with a book bag with Just Right books for them to read independently or to share with someone. It’s important that these books go back and forth from home to school each day. Over the next two weeks we are seeking 100% participation for students reading at home. Please help us to celebrate students by making sure their book bags and reading logs are making the trip back to school.
Did you know that Bordeaux has a student leadership team made up of a few 4th grade students from each class. This team of 4th graders have been selected to start the year by showing our core values of being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible Bulldogs. The team has been involved in different responsibilities throughout the school day to help our school run smoothly and to be role models for our students. Leadership meets once or twice a week to decide on school wide celebrations or learn ways they can help set up events. A lot of days they all end up in Mr. Myer’s room during their lunch time to share their own ideas of ways they can spread our values across the school to make it a safer, more respectful, and responsible place to be!
Due to unforeseen circumstances, all after school music classes are cancelled until Winter Break. This includes Marimba, choir, and drums. If we are able to get them up and running again, we will let you know and students who are already signed up will be able to continue. This is not budget related. I apologize for any inconvenience.
We are still wanting our choir students to participate as planned for the tree lighting ceremony on Friday, December 6th.
We’re excited to see our students again tomorrow and as always, it’s a great week to be a Bordeaux Bulldog!
