A Message To Families From Mr. Peck
Riverview Families,
As you will be able to see in some of the pictures included in this newsletter, there have been several fun events in the past week! We held another Family Bowling Night, hosted the annual kindergarten gingerbread house engineering event, participated in a LEGO Robotics tournament, held a band concert, conducted community service projects, and more! Riverview has been a busy place and will continue to be one during the coming week. We appreciate the many volunteers, participants, and helpers that make these things possible. I am so grateful to be a part of a school community that is so invested in their child's education and in ensuring their school experience a positive one. Thank you for your partnership!
This week we have some fun (optional) dress up days, opportunities for giving, and more. There is sure to be a little extra energy in our school each day. Through it all, we will try to maintain as much routine and predictability to the school day as possible. As much as possible, our focus will still be on learning and moving our academic goals forward. We are asking for your help with this at home as well! Even though we are all a little busier than normal this time of year, please make sure your child is still reading 20-30 minutes each night, getting to bed at a good time, and limiting their screen time to intentional use only. Thank you for your help with this!
This is the last newsletter until the new year. I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday season filled with joy, hope, and love.
Shawn Peck
Principal

We Need Your Help! We Are In Need of More Paraprofessional Substitutes
Our paraprofessionals are a vital part of our team and they do so much every day for our students. Like everyone, they have to miss work from time to time due to illness, family matters, etc. When that happens, it leaves our learners with less support. And unfortunately, often times these absences go "unfilled" due to a shortage of capable and willing subs. That is why we are asking for people in our Riverview community to consider being a para sub. The pay is $15 per hour and you can work as much (or as little) as you want. Whether you sub one day or every day, each time you enter a classroom, you are responsible for the helping the most important resource we have in our school -- our children.
If you would like to sign up to sub as a teacher or paraprofessional for the Farmington Schools you will have to apply through Teachers on Call (TOC). Please email or call TOC directly at 1800-713-4439 or apply online at teachersoncall.com.
Keep On Reading Every Night at Home! It Makes a HUGE Difference!
