A Message From Dr. Smith

I want to let you know about an incident that recently occurred at our school. On September 20, we were made aware of alleged misconduct by a permanent substitute in one of our classrooms that put mandatory reporting into action, including the notification of local authorities.

The family of the student involved was immediately contacted and the staff member was placed on administrative leave.

On September 30, the staff member was charged with battery related to the incident which involved a student. Please note that these are allegations at this point, and the matter is under investigation by law enforcement and the school district.

While I cannot provide specific details due to privacy laws and the ongoing investigation, I want to assure you that we are cooperating fully with the authorities. The staff member will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. In the meantime, we are working diligently to ensure that the affected classroom is supported with qualified staff so that learning continues with minimal disruption.

We understand that this news is concerning, and we take these allegations very seriously. The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority, and we are committed to transparency within our school community.
