May 20 - 24
Dear Families,
We had a wonderful week enjoying the beautiful weather and being outside for lots of our learning. Our kindergarten classes were excited to watch the relase of some painted lady butterflies in the "no mow May" section of lawn outside, that they have been tending to since they were caterpillars. We also enjoyed the new outdoor sports equipment purchased for all classes by our School Council - thank you!! It is certainly being put to good use!! The Celebration of Dance was a great way to end the week! Next week many of our classes will attend the Wizard of Odessa presentation at ESS, there is also a touch football tournament, and the Regional Track & Field meet for many to look forward to.
Grad Memory Book
Great news! A team of students, teachers & parents have been working to create a memory book for our graduating class. Please ensure that your order is placed on or before May 30th to make sure you get one. It will not be possible to order additional copies after the due date. This will be a great keepsake for years to come. Please make sure to check the School-Day app directly if you didn't receive an email notification.
Colour House Assembly
On Friday, May 24th we will have a Bath PRIDE assembly at 2:00. The trait we are celebrating for this assembly is determination! To start off the assembly, the marathon club runners will complete their final lap(s) ending with a run into the gym to wild applause!...
We will also celebrate and acknowledge all of the academic and sports accomplishments from throughout the year and thank our teachers and coaches. We can't wait to see which colour house is in the lead with a little over a month of school to go!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found items are currently on display in the Pit for classes and individuals to peruse. Please come in and have a look if you are at the school for any reason throughout the week. There will be a lost and found fashion show on Friday to hopefully reunite some garments with their owners but after that day, all unclaimed items will be donated.
STEM Night
Save the date! On June 21st (changed from June 14th), our School Council is planning a family STEM night! If you are available to help organize , create, and help run this amazing venture please reach out to Stephanie - stephanie.louise0103@gmail.com.
Looking forward to a great week ahead!

EQAO Results and Practice Tests
The EQAO window for testing is open from May 8th-June 12th, 2024 and will happen for students in grade 3 and 6.
Families can look at EQAO 2023 results for the province, board and Bath through the EQAO website.
EQAO is administered to Grade 3 and Grade 6 students each spring. All of the sample and practice tests for this school year are now available.
Students can become familiar with the digital assessments and their platform through EQAO’s sample and practice tests.
We encourage families to check out the digital platform and to explore the types of questions that are asked on the assessment for Grade 3 & 6.
HELP NEEDED
The Bath Holiday Bazaar raises over $13,000 for our students. People are needed to help run it or else this event will NOT happen this year!! Mostly urgently, people are needed to look after vendors. It doesn't need to be just one person, 2 or 3 or more people can look after it together.
People are also needed to look after getting donations for the silent auction, raffle and cafe. Several people can also share these tasks. The previous organizers have very clear information about how to run the bazaar. Guidance is available. Please email bathholidaybazaar@gmail.com if you can help or know someone who can.
Kindergarten Registration
A reminder that Kindergarten registration for the 24/25 school year is now open. If you have children at home who will be coming or know of families in our community that are planning on registering, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible. Knowing our numbers ahead of time helps our planning. If your student is four or five by the end of December, now is the time to register for this September 2024.
Transportation Application - Triboard Information
Please read the information below if you require new transportation for September. Many families will have their transportation rolled over without reapplication, but please read carefully so you are aware if action needs to be taken by your family for application.
Opportunities for students and families...
Kid power: Lead your city as Mayor for a Day!
Imagine your child stepping into the Mayor’s shoes for an entire day! The City of Kingston is opening applications for the first annual Mayor for a Day program.
Mayor for a Day is a unique and exciting opportunity for local youth from around the city to learn about municipal politics and civic issues. One Grade 5 student will be chosen to be Mayor for a day based on their ideas for improving life in Kingston. The winner will be invited to spend the day with Mayor Bryan Paterson to learn more about how local government works in your city.

Concussion Protocol
In order to follow the LDSB concussion protocol, and in an abundance of caution, any time a student takes a blow to the head, face or neck, or a blow to the body that transmits a force to the head, we must suspect a concussion, Form 142-1 Tool to Identify a Suspected Concussion will be completed, and parents will be contacted.
If after a bump to the head, if your child exhibits one or more worrisome signs or symptoms, parents will also be asked to complete Form 142-4 Documentation of Medical Examination indicating that their child is symptom free and able to “return to learn” and then to “return to physical activity,” 24 hours later.
Should your student be diagnosed with a concussion, please alert the school right away, and complete and return the below documents to the school:
Form 142C4 Documentation for a Diagnosed Concussion - Return to Learn/Return to Physical Activity Steps 2a-6 (this is a process and will take time to work through between school and home)
We take suspected concussions/diagnosed concussions very seriously and we appreciate your support in ensuring the safety of your student. Thank you in advance for your understanding.
School Trips and Volunteers
Throughout the year, we may ask for parent/guardian volunteers on school trips or for various classroom and school activities. The wait time for obtaining a CPIC (background check with vulnerable sector screening) can be lengthy. As such, if you think you would be willing to assist with a trip or school event in the future, please consider obtaining a CPIC with vulnerable sector screening completed, beforehand.
Triboard Transportation
Tis the season for bus cancellations....As the weather gets colder, families should ensure they are signed up to receive direct notifications, either by email, or Tri-Board’s app. Delays and cancellations are also posted to Tri-Board’s Twitter account.
