Attendance Awareness
A Strong Start to the New Semester: The Importance of Good Attendance
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The beginning of a new semester is an exciting time—a fresh start filled with opportunities for learning, growth, and achievement. To help your teen make the most of this semester, we encourage you to prioritize strong attendance. Regular attendance is one of the most critical factors in academic success and is essential for helping your middle or high schooler stay on track.
Why Attendance Matters:
Academic Success: Missing classes means missing valuable instruction, discussions, and assignments, which can quickly lead to falling behind.
Building Responsibility: Consistent attendance teaches time management, accountability, and commitment—skills that are essential for success in college, careers, and life.
Classroom Connections: Middle school and high school is a time to develop relationships with teachers and peers. Being present ensures your teen benefits from these connections, enhancing both learning and social development.
How You Can Support Good Attendance:
Set the Tone: Emphasize the importance of showing up every day, on time, and ready to learn.
Monitor Progress: Stay informed about your teen’s attendance through school updates, checking your child’s Skyward record and address any concerns early.
Encourage Healthy Habits: Support a regular sleep schedule, nutritious meals, and exercise to help your teen stay focused and energized.
Plan Ahead: Schedule appointments and family commitments outside school hours whenever possible.
Communicate Challenges: If your teen is facing personal or academic struggles, reach out to teachers or school counselors for assistance.
Our Commitment to You:
We understand that life happens—illnesses, emergencies, and unforeseen circumstances may arise. If your family is experiencing challenges affecting attendance, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are here to help and work together to find solutions.
Let’s make this semester a successful one by ensuring every student gets the full benefit of their education. Together, we can set the foundation for a bright future!
