Dear FMS Families,

We are excited to celebrate our 8th grade students as they prepare to complete their middle school journey and move on to high school! The 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony will take place on Thursday, May 29th, and we look forward to honoring our students’ hard work, growth, and accomplishments.

Invitations for the ceremony were sent home with students on Wednesday, April 24th. If you received an invitation, we encourage you to attend and celebrate this important milestone with us.

While this is a joyful event, we do want to acknowledge a difficult but important reality: not all students received invitations to the ceremony. Students who have failed multiple classes, struggled significantly with attendance, or been referred for major behavioral concerns have not been invited to participate in the ceremony.

This decision was not made lightly. Our goal is to ensure that the graduation event reflects our school’s values of academic effort, responsibility, and respectful behavior. We understand this may be disappointing for some, and we are committed to working with students and families to support future success as they transition to high school.

If you have any questions about your child's eligibility or need clarification regarding the invitation, please don’t hesitate to contact the main office.

Our classrooms are buzzing with activity as students work hard to finish end-of-the-year assignments and projects. From final presentations to creative group work, there’s no shortage of learning and excitement happening at FMS right now!

Even with all the hustle and bustle, our students always manage to find a moment to share a laugh—and of course, strike a pose for a fun picture! 😄

The Freddy Falcon Award celebrates students who go above and beyond in demonstrating the core values of our school—respect, responsibility, and kindness. After a stretch of unpredictable weather, it finally looks like spring has decided to stick around—and our student-athletes are ready to shine! With clearer skies and warmer days ahead, our teams are back on the fields, courts, and tracks, putting in hard work and showing off their skills.
