We're Getting Ready for "BACK TO SCHOOL"!!
Just a few highlights to get you thinking about school as we are moving through the month of August. More information will be shared in the weeks to come but it is with great enthusiasm that I look forward to seeing our students coming through the doors in September!!

At Hamilton Elementary, we believe every student is valuable and capable! We take pride and ownership in our work because we care about the quality of education your child receives. Open House
Save the Date: Wednesday, August 28th
We are in the final countdown of being ready to kick-off the '24-'25 school year here at Hamilton Elementary. We are excited to see students coming back through our doors along with welcoming our new incoming students and their families too! I am excited for you to meet our staff and see the great experiences we are planning for this upcoming school year!
Wednesday, August 28th
- 4:00pm School-Wide Title Meet & Greet (gymnasium)
- Information regarding upcoming School Planning & Events
- Free Cookies!!
- Classrooms will open at 4:30 to Meet your Child's Teacher
- 4:30-6:00pm Classroom Visits
- Postcards will be mailed in the weeks ahead with Classroom Teacher assignments. If you have not received your child's classroom placement by Tuesday, August 27th, please call 763-506-2700.
- We look forward to meeting you at Open House but we know there are times families are not able to attend. We will have a Back To School powerpoint to share with all families in an upcoming communication to support everyone feeling welcome at Hamilton.
Kindergarten Welcome Week
Kindergarten information
- Kindergarten Meet & Greet
- September 3rd or September 4th
- Kindergarten families will receive a postcard by August 23rd with information to schedule a 20 minute "Meet & Greet" on either September 3rd or September 4th with your child's kindergarten teacher. This is a great opportunity for families, students, and teachers to become acquainted and learn how to get set up for success at school.
- Kindergarten First Day of School
- Students with last names beginning A-J start on Thursday, September 5th.
- Students with last names beginning K-Z start on Friday, September 6th.
- All Kindergarten students will attend school on Monday, September 9th.
First Day of School - September 3rd
- Grades 1-5
- School begins Tuesday, September 3rd for students in grades 1-5.

- Arrival 8:45am
- Breakfast 8:45am
- Class begins 9:00am

Child Nutrition update
Free Meals & Educational Benefits
If your family needs access to educational benefits that are available, please visit ahschools.us/freereduced to complete an application. It is important to complete this application each year to determine whether or not you qualify to be considered benefit eligible. Educational benefits include: Device protection on district Chromebooks, Comcast internet essentials discount, qualified applicants can receive Amazon Prime membership discounts, discounted bus fares with Metro Transit, Xcel Energy account assistance, discounts at many museums and theaters and more.

The state’s Free School Meals program will cover the cost of one breakfast meal and one lunch meal for every student daily, however the cost of a la carte items, such as milk, other drinks, or extra meal items will not be covered. Students will need to have funds in their meal accounts to purchase any additional food items.

K-5 School Supply Lists:
Hamilton is grateful for the many school supplies that have been donated by our Coon Rapids community partners. These supplies will be available for those in need at open house. This includes; backpacks, folders, notebooks, pencils, glue sticks...
We are here to make sure every student has what they need to be successful at school!
