Warrior Families,
As we enter the month of December, we reflect on the joy of the season and the exciting events ahead. It has been an incredible fall, filled with growth, learning, and Warrior community spirit. I am so thankful for our dedicated students, teachers, and staff who make our school such a wonderful place to learn and grow. I am also grateful for the support and involvement of our families. Together, we make our school a true Warrior community.
As always every day counts here on the Warrior Campus. Please help ensure your child develops the habit of regular attendance. Studies show many children who miss too many days in 4K, kindergarten and first grade struggle academically in later years. They often have trouble mastering reading by the end of third grade. Absences can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. It doesn't matter if absences are excused or unexcused. They all represent lost time in the classroom and lost opportunity to learn.
We are so proud of all our students' accomplishments so far and are looking forward to the end of year 2024 celebrations. As we head into the new year, I want to wish everyone a peaceful and joyous holiday season. Below are important updates, upcoming concert dates, and other events.
Please don't hesitate to contact the school with any questions. Every day is a great day to be a Warrior!
Warm regards,
Principal Fieck

Helping Your Child Receive the Full Benefit of Their Education-Facts from the Attendance Office
An absence is any time your child misses any portion of the school day after the start of school (8:10 AM) and before the scheduled end of school (3:25 PM).
Absences are further broken down as excused and unexcused.
All excused absences require communication with school. Any absence lacking communication remains unexcused until such time as information is provided to the school. For an absence to be excused, we need communication from you (email, phone call, written note). It is never too late to communicate for a past absence. Remember, good attendance is more than simply complying with laws; rather, it is truly a matter of providing our children with more and better opportunities to learn!

7 Grandfather Teachings -- DECEMBER POWWOW -- 12/6/24
The traditional concepts of respect and sharing that form the foundation of the Native American way of life are built around the seven natural laws, or sacred teachings. Each teaching honors one of the basic virtues intrinsic to a full and healthy life.
Each law is embodied by an animal to underscore the point that all actions and decisions made by man are manifest on a physical plain. The animal world taught man how to live close to the earth, and the connection that has been established between the animal world and that of man has instilled a respect for all life in those who follow the traditional way.
- The Eagle teaches us LOVE. Love must be unconditional.
- The Buffalo teaches us RESPECT. Respect is the condition of being honored.
- The Bear teaches us COURAGE. Courage is the ability to face danger, fear, or changes with confidence and bravery.
- The Butterfly teaches us HONESTY.
- The Beaver teaches us WISDOM. Wisdom is the ability to make decisions based on personal knowledge and experience.
- The Wolf teaches us HUMILITY. Humility is being humble and not arrogant.
- The Turtle teaches us TRUTH. Truth is to know and understand all the seven teachings have given to us by the Creator and to remain faithful to them.
December 6th at 2:30 we will be celebrating WISDOM and introducing LOVE. All are welcome to attend the powwow in the LDF School big gym.
