CMS Newsletter
December 6, 2024
Hello,
As we approach winter break, I want to remind everyone about the various events happening at school. I encourage all students to stay focused and put in their best effort, as we have noticed a decline in grades this month. This is largely due to missing assignments and low test scores.
To support our students, we are offering After the Bell and Peer Tutoring sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week. Additionally, students who currently have no 'E' grades as of today will have the opportunity to participate in a fun activity during advisory next week.
Attached, you will find the behavior document for November. I am pleased to report that our minor referrals are fewer than major referrals for this month. Furthermore, our major referrals are below the national average and better than most schools in the county. However, we continue to see the highest number of technology-related referrals, which typically involve students using their Chromebooks for games or other non-academic websites, as well as phone violations. Please remind your child that Chromebooks should be used exclusively for academic purposes.
In collaboration with the high school, we have developed these expectations as a tiered approach to prepare students for the challenges of each grade level while encouraging self-motivation and responsibility. I encourage you to monitor your child's progress through ParentVue and StudentVue.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a great weekend!
Best regards,
Michelle Pyrett
