Once a Raider, Always a Raider
Wonderful Raider Families,
"Stop saying rest is a luxury or a privilege. It is not — it’s a human right … it gives us the space to embody and live in divinity." ~Tricia Hersey~
Only 3 days more!
As we wrap up the 2023-2024 school year, I want to wish all of you a restful and relaxing summer. Summer is the time to reset and rejuvenate. For our graduating seniors, congratulations and well done. I wish you success in your post-secondary journey, and I hope you return to visit your alma mater and share your successes and challenges. For our return students, take time to rest but keep your mind active. If you have summer school, then use that time wisely to catch up so that you don't have to add extra work and classes when you return. This final newsletter of the 2023-2024 school year not only contains information regarding the next three days, it also contains information about the new school year.
Senior Prank Advice
Seniors and parents, please read my message below regarding senior pranks. While this activity is a senior tradition, ensure that whatever activity you decide on, that it does not break the law. Make sure it is fun, humorous and memorable.
Graduation Information
Seniors, our graduation date is June 5, 2024 at San Ysidro High School starting at 5:30pm. At this time, the district has informed that families can only have a maximum of six (6) guests at the graduation. It is important that you pass all your required classes, return your devices and other borrowed school items, so that you are not on the non-privilege list. We will have graduation practice on June 3 in the gym. Please read details below. Let's finish strong, seniors.
Summer School 2024 is at San Ysidro High School
Students, if you failed a class or a number of classes, your counselors have enrolled you in summer school at San Ysidro High School, which starts June 10 and ends June 28. For those who failed science classes or PE classes, you need to attend summer school because we do not offer lab sciences or PE via APEX. You can only recover these classes in an actual summer school setting. Click HERE to see if you have been enrolled in summer school. This list is also posted by the main office, counseling center, Room 1110 and Afterschool program. Your teachers will also have the list.
Senior Clearance Process
Seniors, in order for you to get your diplomas, you much return all items to school and pay all your bills and fines. If you do not, this will delay the receipt of your diploma. Take care of business.

Dear Seniors and Parents,
As the school year draws to a close, we understand that excitement and anticipation for graduation are running high. This is a significant milestone, and it’s natural to want to celebrate the end of your high school journey. However, we urge you to consider the implications of engaging in senior pranks.
While pranks may seem like harmless fun, they often lead to unintended consequences. Here are a few reasons to reconsider:
- **Safety Risks**: Many pranks can inadvertently cause physical harm to students, staff, or property. What might seem like a light-hearted joke can quickly escalate into a dangerous situation.
- **Legal Consequences**: Vandalism, theft, and other actions often associated with pranks can result in serious legal repercussions. Students could face criminal charges, fines, or even jail time, which could impact their future opportunities.
- **School Disciplinary Actions**: Participating in pranks can lead to suspension, expulsion, or being barred from graduation ceremonies. This can overshadow years of hard work and dedication.
- **Community Impact**: Pranks that damage school property or disrupt the learning environment affect the entire school community. Repairing damage or dealing with the aftermath of pranks diverts resources away from educational purposes.
- **Setting an Example**: As seniors, you are role models for younger students. Ending your high school career on a positive note sets a constructive example and upholds the values of respect and responsibility.
We encourage you to channel your energy into positive celebrations that create lasting, positive memories for you and your classmates. Consider organizing or participating in school-sanctioned events that bring joy and leave a positive legacy.
Parents, we ask for your support in discussing these points with your seniors. Together, we can ensure that the end of the school year is a safe, joyous, and memorable time for all the right reasons.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! Let's make these final days count in the best way possible.
