Magyar's Message April 9, 2024
-From The Desk of the Superintendent-
Dear ALCS Families,
Welcome back!
We hope you enjoyed a relaxing and fun Spring Break. Yesterday’s eclipse was truly an unforgettable experience. Kudos to the City of Avon Lake and the many volunteers who organized the events throughout our city.
The Avon Lake Public Library recently joined Astronomers Without Borders (AWB) to collect eclipse glasses in good condition to be recycled for use in other countries to safely view future eclipse events. Residents can drop off glasses at the library during regular business hours.
Congratulations to our entire music department! The Avon Lake City Schools has been named a NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) 2024 Best Community for Music Education. Thank you to our amazing music teachers and community members for the support of the music education in our schools. Our district has received this honor 15 consecutive times. In the past 22 years, the district has earned the distinction 19 times.
Reminder, the State of the Schools presentation will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Commons at Avon Lake High School. There will be time at the end of the presentation for questions. We hope to see you in person. We will be providing updates regarding academics, finances and facilities. The event will be audio recorded.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Joelle Magyar
