BOOKS OF THE MONTH
Extraordinary Jane by Hannah Harrison
Jane's an ordinary dog in an extraordinary family, a circus family where everybody has an amazing talent. Try as she might, Jane just doesn't measure up, and in the end she is celebrated for being exactly who she is. With detailed acrylic paintings and a wonderful message, this makes a great read-aloud for primary grades. Check out the other elementary school titles that are part of SDCOE's monthly library book subscription service.
Boundless by Kenneth Oppel
With his popular SIlverwing and Airborn trilogies, Oppel has established himself as a master of action and adventure for middle grade readers--and his latest book is no exception. The Boundless, all 987 cars long, is making its transcontinental maiden voyage when young Will Everett witnesses a murder during a stop. He barely manages to scramble aboard the caboose, and now must evade the villains as he makes his way back to his father, the train's engineer, at the front. Check out the other middle school titles that are part of SDCOE's monthly library book subscription service.
