Jordan/Jackson News You Can Use
March 15, 2024
Dear Families,
We are very excited to see families next week's conferences. Just a reminder to please keep the following in mind:
For safety purposes, we are asking all families to enter through the Visitor Entrance until 6:00pm*. The Visitor Entrance is located at the front of our building.
Please remember to have a photo id with you when you arrive.
Our staff will check you in and provide you with a sticker badge. This process can take a couple of minutes, especially during times of high volume.
If at all possible, please try to factor that into your planning and arrive a couple of minutes early for your appointment.
We have made teachers aware that it is possible families may be delayed because of this process.
*From 6:00pm to 8:00pm, families can enter the building through any of our three main doors (East Door 1, West Door 5 or Visitor Door 2)
Thank you for your understanding,
John Nieratko

Vocabulary Parade During Reading Across America Week
NEA’s Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading with the theme: Celebrating a Nation of Diverse Readers.
In celebration of Read Across America week, Jordan/Jackson planned an engaging way for students to be exposed to a variety of words - a vocabulary parade! Each student was given a word to represent in their grade’s parade. It was so much fun to see all students and staff proudly participating with their word creations and many with costumes. After all, building vocabulary helps to make strong readers!
We had 3 days of parades, one day for each grade. Grades not participating that day lined the halls and cheered as we passed through the hallways. Please click on the link below to see how much fun we were having:
Leap Day February 29, 2024!
Miss Parker's class did a STEM Challenge for Leap Day! Students were challenged to design and build a paper frog that would leap the farthest using only one sheet of paper.
Ten inches was the winner!
Experimenting!
Mrs. Reeder’s 4th grade class was experimenting with electricity and energy transfer in J/J’s STEM Lab. They were given a variety of challenges to complete and their smiles said it all when they met them. Hands-on learning at its best!
