Given safety concerns related to viewing the eclipse, the Upper Dublin School District will be operating on an early dismissal schedule on Monday, April 8, 2024. The day’s schedule will follow our typical dismissal times on early dismissal days. The times for each level are listed below. Please also review the below information regarding other logistics for the afternoon of April 8, 2024.

• Any afternoon spring practices and game schedules at our secondary schools will be adjusted. More information will be provided by our Athletic Director and/or coaches.

• After school clubs and activities will be adjusted or rescheduled. More information will be shared by School Principals or advisors.

• Right At School After Care: Elementary School After Care will be open upon dismissal until 6:00 pm. Children will remain indoors until after the eclipse and will not be permitted to view the event. If you wish for your children to watch the eclipse they will need to be picked up.

We hope this schedule provides each family the opportunity to choose your level of comfort with viewing the eclipse and that you have a positive and safe experience.

We are very proud to announce that Dr. Daniel Ortiz, Sandy Run Middle School Principal, has been selected as this year's UD Medals Outstanding Educator. The Selection Committee chooses one full-time teacher or administrator currently employed by Upper Dublin School District who has made a significant contribution to the educational process. The individual possesses the ability to communicate, motivate, and relate to students toward educational achievement; has a high degree of expertise; and demonstrates a willingness to share ideas, talents and experiences both in school and through community activities. Congratulations Dr. Ortiz!
