MGMS Reminders for Parents
Parents please adhere to the following school procedure reminders:
- Pull all the way up in the car line before letting your child out of the car. If each parents pulls all the way up, we maximize the number of students that can be let out of the car.
- If you are waiting for a child in the afternoon or your child takes a while to get out of the car in the morning, please pull up past the crosswalk to the end of the gym. This allows for traffic to flow around you while you wait.
- Student need to be let out along the curb. Do not let students out in the parking lot and expect them to dodge cars to get to the sidewalk. This is not safe.
- The area behind the elementary PE gym and the blacktop is a no parking zone for parents/visitors. Parking in this area creates problems for delivery drivers and dumpster pick-up.
Picture Day is coming
Thursday, February 27th, we will have our Spring Picture Day. On this day students will also take a grade-level picture.

Mrs. Formby's Counseling Corner
Last week we began course registration in Town Hall with our current 6th graders. Students should return forms to Mrs. Frank, their ELA teacher, as soon as possible. This coming week we will meet with our currenty 7th graders.
Information on all available electives, including the district requirements for enrollment in an Academic Elective, is included with your student's registration papers. Please look over these with your student so they can make the most informed choice about their classes for next year. If you have questions about honors classes for your student, please reach out to their teacher.
- A quick note about Accelerated Math (honors math): students must take Accelerated Math in BOTH 7th and 8th grade to receive the Algebra 1 credit in high school.
- Some electives have an application and recommendation process. If your student does not turn in applications and teacher recommendations for Student Aide, Green Power, or Peer Helper, they will not be chosen for that elective.
Please email at Erica.Formby@hsv-k12.org me if you have any questions or concerns!
Mr. Vasquez, Grissom's freshman counselor, will be at The Gap next week to talk registration with our 8th grade students. Students will visit with him Mon, Tues or Wendesday of next week. Mr. Mercieca, Grissom's freshman assistant principal, will also be by next week to visit with the students during their Town Hall on Wednesday.

Grade-Level Memos
Each week teachers will compile the information for their class into one grade-level memo. You will know what your child is studying, when homework is due and when they have tests and projects. Please check the grade-level memo each week. It is the best way to stay informed.
If you need to email the teacher for a class, just click their name. It is hyperlinked to their email.
