Welcome to Tiger Talk! This newsletter is intended to keep our community informed of important information and upcoming events in our schools. Highlights of this month's issue include the 24-25 annual school calendar, Strategic Planning, and the 2024-25 Preliminary Budget.

Following our recent Board of Education meeting, we've shared important updates on the 2024-2025 school budget, including a preliminary overview and a revised overview. For detailed insights, please review the budget discussion letter here, the initial presentation here, and the updated slides here, which highlights potential strategies to manage an anticipated budget shortfall. We appreciate your engagement and support as we navigate these challenges together.

The 2024-25 calendar received approval at the Board of Education meeting on February 26th. During the session, two calendar versions were discussed: one aligning with North Hunterdon-Voorhees High School, and the other starting post-Labor Day. The Board approved Version 1, which aligns closely with the high school calendar. To view the approved calendar, please click here.

We are excited to inform all township residents that enrollment is now open for our tuition-free preschool program. This expansion provides a significant opportunity for early childhood education for children aged three for the 2023-2024 school year. It is important to note that, unfortunately, there are no available spaces in the program for four-year-olds for the 2023-24 school year.

Program Details:

• Start Date: April 8, 2024
• Program Hours: 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM
• Transportation: Available for all students in the program These additional seats will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage families to act quickly, as we anticipate these spaces will fill rapidly.

• Open Registration: Effective immediately for the 2023-2024 school year
• Allocation Method: First-come, first-served basis for each age group
• Guaranteed Spot for 2024-2025: Enrollment this year guarantees a spot for the next academic year.

All meetings are held in the Union Township Elementary School Library, located at 149 Perryville Road, Hampton, NJ, and begin at 6:45 pm unless otherwise noted. Meetings are open to the public and formal action may/will be taken at all meetings. The Board reserves the right to go into Closed Executive Session during any/all of the above meetings.
