Queen of Apostles School
Term 3 Week 2 - Thursday 27 July 2023
Prayer
Thank you
I would like to thank Mrs Anderson and Mrs Salvia for taking on the roles of Principal and Assistant Principal during my absence. It’s an excellent sign when you know you can leave the school in such capable hands and everything runs smoothly.
I feel refreshed after my break and it certainly is great to be back in this wonderful community on Monday. Term 3 is another big one in the life of our school and I am excited for what is to come!
Religious Education Assessment
This week and next week our Years Three and Five classes will be involved in the Religious Education Assessment (REA). This Assessment provides a point in time snapshot of student performance in Religious Education. Students’ knowledge and understanding of the content of the RE curriculum is assessed using a combination of multiple choice, and short and extended answer response items.
The REA will be done online and will give us information to measure student learning of content in the Religious Education curriculum. The results of these assessments will also inform teaching and be made available to parents once released.
Parent and Caregiver Survey
We are currently collecting information through the NSI Partnerships (National School Improvement Partnerships) to help us make informed decisions on how we can improve our school. As a school, we believe that the parent perspective can assist us on our improvement journey. The Parent and Caregiver Survey (PaCS) will provide feedback to the school leadership team about a wide range of dimensions important to parents. This information will assist us in considering how we can foster greater involvement of parents, as key stakeholders, in the life of the school.
Confidentiality
To protect your confidentiality, the survey is completely anonymous and individual responses cannot be accessed. We will only be provided with information when responses from four or more people is provided within any given category. All responses will go directly to NSI (Curtin University) and results are aggregated into feedback reports.
How to complete the report
To respond to the Parent and Caregiver Survey, please go to:
www.NSIPartnerships.com.au and enter the code QOASPACS in the start questionnaire field. You will be asked to respond to statements about the school climate and practices that take place in the school. If you have more than one child in the school, you may want to respond more than once as our students often have different experiences at school.
We value parental feedback and look forward to parents taking up the opportunity to see our school through the eyes of parents, staff and children. The survey will be open from Monday 31st July, 2023. We will send out an email on the 31st July to remind parents that the survey is now open. The survey will remain open until Friday 18th August.
Grandparent's Mass
We will be celebrating a Thanksgiving Mass in honour of all grandparents on next Friday 4th August.
The morning will begin with a Mass at 9.00am, followed by time in classrooms to work with the children, and ending with a morning tea provided by our P&F. To assist the P&F in organising morning tea, grandparents who would like to attend the morning are asked to RSVP via Trybooking. The link is: https://www.trybooking.com/CJDPM

Footy Tipping
In Round 19, six of our Queenies tippers achieved a perfect round, including Chee Ng, who is this week's winner with the lowest margin. Chee is now only 2 points behind the top spot.
As we enter the final 4 rounds, the competition for the top spot is heating up. Will Mr Ryan maintain his lead, or will Franz, Zara, or Chee be able to knock him out of the top spot? Only time will tell.
