Principal's Note:
Dear Spartans
Fresh Start - MP2
It is hard to imagine that today marks the end of the first marking period. With this being said, the start of the second marking period provides students with a new start.
As always, we encourage students to be in school everyday, when healthy. Gradebooks are reset and students can focus on assignments and tasks in front of them.
Morning Drop Off / After School Pick Up
A few reminders:
*Students should be ready to exit when the passenger side of the vehicle is on the school side of the building. You do not have to wait until the vehicle is directly in front of the main entrance.
*The Bus Loop is not available for drop off until after 7:15 am. LPS Transportation needs to have unobstructed access and use to maintain their schedules.
*The Church is not a point of parking, drop off, or pick up.
* The Traffic Light is motion activated. If you are the first car in line, please pull up to the cross walk, as this will activate the sensors.
As always, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

SHS ABSENCE PROCEDURES
Parents/Guardians are required to contact SHS regarding their student’s absence by completing this Report an Attendance form by 1pm on the day of the absence. If a student falsifies this information through the Google Doc or phone, the student may receive consequences.
All absences are recorded in the ParentConnect program which can be viewed by parents/guardians using the designated login. If a student has an unexcused absence in one or more hours, an automated message will be sent to the home of the student via the designated phone number or email address. Please refer to the SHS Attendance Policy.
ARRIVING LATE TO SCHOOL
Students who arrive more than ten (15) minutes late to1st hour should check-in with our security team (Blueline) or the Attendance office (main office) office. The parent or guardian should report late arrivals using the Google Doc here. Students who miss fifteen (15) minutes or more of a particular class period will be marked absent for that class.
CHECKING OUT OF SCHOOL
Students who need to check out during the school day must have a parent/guardian report their absence here to get a pass before school begins or bring a note from their parents or guardian to their Assistant Principal's office prior to their first hour. The note must contain the name of the student, date of absence, time of departure, parent signature, and contact number. Students who miss fifteen (15) minutes or more of a particular class period will be marked absent for that class. To avoid disrupting class, students checking out early should check out between classes at their assistant principal’s office. Please refer to Stevenson Bell Schedule. ALL students must check out through their Assistant Principal's office if leaving early regardless of age.
