Attendance Matters
If children don't show up for school regularly, they miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.
Preliminary data from a California study found that children who were chronically absent in kindergarten and 1st grade were far less likely to read proficiently at the end of 3rd grade.
A Parent's Guide to RULER
What is RULER?
RULER is our district approved social-emotional learning program. It is evidence-based to teach social-emotional learning to all ages with the goal of creating a healthier, more compassionate, innovative, and more equitable society. The RULER approach acknowledges the value and impact of emotions in everyday effectiveness.
Recognizing emotions in oneself and others
Understanding the causes and consequences of emotions
Labeling emotions with a robust vocabulary
Expressing emotions in accordance with cultural norms and social context
Regulating emotions with helpful strategies
The RULER program aims to help people of all ages to recognize emotions in a non-judgmental manner. If emotions are not desirable for a given situation, the RULER program aims to provide strategies to help people self-regulate and get back to a more desirable mood.
More information to come about RULER and it's key components.
Yearbook, Order now to get 10% off until September 30th!
Hello Aumsville Families,
We are using Treering.com again to publish our yearbooks. I love this company because they have great customer service and each yearbook can be customized. When you order a yearbook, you get two free pages of your own to fill. You can upload photos or have your student answer questions about their favorites this year. You can also buy extra pages if you need more space.
This year I expanded our book to 50 pages, so the cost is $16.39 for a paperback copy and $22.75 for a hardback copy. They are on sale 10% off during the month of September. All sales go through their website.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me at aday@cascade.k12.or.us
P.S. You can also buy books from the past 3 years through their site.
